He will either:

1) feel bad after practice or in the race, and will pull out. Keyboard warriors will unite in anger & their opinions regarding what they would do.

2) 4-8th place

3) crash out

I hope he has a solid race, and builds on the season, getting ready for outdoors. My pick is 6th, if he makes it to the main.

Analyzing & predicting what may happen, and hoping for what does are two completely different things.

For example:

1) I want Reed to win this weekend. That would be awesome, and it is plausible (even if ever so slightly).

2) I don't think he will.

See what I did there?

Also, it's worth noting that my hope for James is covered under situation 2 in the above referenced statement.

I'm not banking on him for the win but he's James Swewart, he will give it his all and get another yellow bike ok the top five.

The deal is we have no clue what level Stew is on. We have not seen him race SX in almost 2 years. I'm sure it's going to take a few races to get back up to speed. But how do you know what level he is at? Some of these Vitards act like he will be fighting it out in the LCQ! Two weeks after the worst concussion he has ever had, he almost won his heat race. Dude made a ton of mistakes almost went down a few times. He does look I bit heavier than 2014, but we have no clue if he can or can't run 20 hard laps.

My wife is picking rad cheed, I'm just hoping James makes it to the main, and makes it through to a solid top 10 finish. The series is better with js7, and that you cannot deny

With a hole shot, he finishes P5. With a crappy start...P10.

There is too much speed difference between the top guys and P10 in SX for Stew not to be able to pull a top 10. Zero chance he does not make the main unless he crashes out. Stew is too fast in short heat races. AT the same time, no way he can run top 2 pace...and he will fade badly at the end of the race.

The real issue for him is bike set up, and being in synch with everything. So important at the high level. I seriously doubt he has 10% of the testing time that the top guys do for 2016...due to the late start, then the Lille injury, then the concussion. He is hopelessly behind. Frankly, the best thing they could probably do would be to re-create the exact bike from 2014 and ride that.

Agreed. Spoken like a true fan. I'll be there tomorrow night cheering him on. The guy has more dedication and drive than most of us put together. After all the shit he has been through the last couple of years, and the millions he has in the bank, most people would have called it quits. Go Bubba!

I just hope he stays up and finishes. Reading an interview with Broc helper about how serious concussions are and that he was happy/not surprised to see James pull off a few weeks ago. I just want james to finish the race and not crash. Just improve every week and hopefully do outdoors.
Idk at this point, he is a legend. From his 125 days, to how fast he was on the 450. He has nothing more to prove so I hope he just has fun

I hope he runs top 3 and finishes on the podium but I would not bet any money on it. I would bet money that he pulls off or crashes out. I think it would be great if he won but it aint gonna happen, at least not yet.

Top 10 would be a solid weekend for James. Gonna take some time to get back into the groove.

I haven't seen anyone yet saying he will be fighting in the lcq, you have a post to confirm that?
At least for me, I'm hoping he does not crash, does not pull off, and does not decide (while in the semi) to not race the main. Don't forget kdub. That came out of nowhere

Through the years, I've loved to hate James. I don't agree with some things he's done but it's had no negative affect on my life. In fact, it's been great having him around and I'm grateful to have watched his entire career. RC would have been boring as fuck to watch without James. I say thanks for coming back and good luck, wherever you finish.

Guys are saying 10th-15th place finish. That's pretty much LCQ right?

Unless he crashes or has bike trouble he should be top 10. I do not see him out there floundering around in 12th place.

He would just pull off if that was the case. Good luck to James and would love to see him put in a solid 20 laps.

Coming back from concussion possibly but unlikely. ..healthy he surpasses that speed.

When you say things like that it makes me realise that you just dont understant this sport. Go look Bogles results in his heats and semis, and compare those to his results in mains. Fitness is the key word. You can go fast in those short races, but if you are not 100% you will struckle later parts in the race. DV and JT$ hva both said that James is far off with his fitness. It will be interesting to see where James is now.

You compare bogle to stew and I don't know about this sport? When has stew never not had the pace to run 20 laps? How in the fuck do JT & DV know his fitness level? Are they at thea test track watching him bust out laps? Do I think he will win? Probably not,but he will be top10.

Sopiiko?

Has the RMZ changed that much?

JS7 has basically been testing for a year and a half now, I would think he's got that RMZ dialed in like no other yellow rider in the country outside of Kenny.

Looks like we have a bunch of people who predicted wrong. Glad he finished the race and hope he can improve on his results next weekend in front of the home crowd. Lets hope he is 100% up to speed for the outdoors!
