10 minutes from the Rose Bowl and those beautiful San Gabriel Mountains you see every year were my playground.

I really enjoyed growing up there as it was so versatile.
Mountains 20 min drive
Pacific Ocean 30
Desert 50

Where else could you surf, ride your motorcycle and snow ski in the same day? Woohoo

I enjoy going there to visit my parents although seeing the decline in them makes me sad.

Visits to the house on a hill I grew up in with a moto track across the street (obviously not there) are numbered..... Sad

Born (and spent the first 19 years) in Brawley, CA. Nestled in between Glamis and Plaster City. Lots of good riding growing up.

I fought fire there in 94 or 95. We had to go in by boat to some desolate, primitive campground on the shore and hike up from there. I've always wanted to go back to camp and fish but haven't made it yet. Beautiful place Cool

North Long Beach/south Compton. Basically lived on the boarded of these two cities during the mid 80's to late 90's. I remember it being a fucking war zone when the B's and C's were going at it and killing each other. Some things you just do NOT forget.

Looks like a place I wouldn't mind living at.

Grew up in Torrance, Ca now in Valley Center, Ca. From the city to the country, never going back.

Probably part of the 94 Tyee complex fire. That was a rough one for my ex's family up the Entiat River.

The last 2 years have been horrible for fires near and at Lake Chelan. Easily the worst 2 year stretch in memory.

West Michigan. Grew up in GR, but only during the week. The rest of the time was spent in the northern part of the state in the woods or on the lake. And yes, you can surf, motorcycle, and ski here all in the same day. It just has to be winter, with no ice on the lake, no snow on the road, but cold enough to keep it on the hills Grinning It never said it's easy, but it's do-able...

Good to know I'm not alone although surfing in Utah on a lake with Peely or in Michigan is a bit different than catching tasty waves in Malibu. Cool

Born and Raised in Price, UT.

Small town in East/Central Utah. About 2 hours north of Moab, 2 hours South of Salt Lake City.

I could ride out of my parents garage and go all the way to Colorado...an Amazing place to grow up. I'm not much of a hunter, but it's huge there. With several limited entry draw units within a couple hours drive.

Yep. That was it. We were all over down around Wenatchee and Ellensburg too. Camped with the bears at the fish hatchery in Wenatchee and free beers in the Ellensburg bars from the college kids and just about everyone else Smile

To be in that kinda shape again...

I remember the Tyee Fire well. My wife's grandma had the last house on Mad River Rd. and my in-laws lived on Entiat River Road and both nearly lost their homes. This year the town of Lake Chelan itself nearly burned down. Here's some lowlights of the summer.

Hey jamma is that the infamous chew Valley reservoir in the picture. I'm a big pike fisherman and I've always wanted to go there, it holds some of the biggest pike in England. If not it still looks a beautiful fishing spot along with some cracking countryside. Oh I'm from Tamworth in the Midlands by the way.

The lake in this picture is Blagdon lake, but Chew Valley Lake (or resevoir as you know it) is only four or five miles away. It's about three times the size, but equally as picturesque. We used to bunk off school and hang out down there when we were kids.

It's interesting that you know of it though, I don't fish myself but have friends who've taken part in British fly fishing comps on Chew Valley lake over the years. There are quite a few trout and carp lakes where my parents live and a river popular with fishermen (the River Chew) literally runs through their garden. I tried it a few times as a kid but seemd to spend most of the time trying to unhook my line from low hanging tree branches or submerged tree roots!
