The wires that run to the plug on these two components are actually long enough to reach all the way to the carburetor. I am not completely finished with the wiring harness but will post pics of it soon.

So to lengthen them from the carb into the air box you'll need to add about 12 inches right?

@blackdiamond, I notice you are using ti hardware in places where aluminum would provide sufficient strength. Example, the electronics bracket above. What is your reasoning? Aluminum hardware would be lighter and cheaper, no?

Please dont mistake my question as bashing. Following this build has been a pleasure.

Please dont mistake my question as bashing. Following this build has been a pleasure.
In this situation it was simply because I had a few bolts that were the correct length so I didn't have to buy any. All of the hardware on the primary and secondary clutch covers, water pump and ignition cover are aluminum. The fork guard fasteners and nearly all of the plastic fasteners are as well.

I think the OEM's have to submit a bike for homologation every 3 years for it to be legal? I think I read that in the rule book somewhere a few years ago but I'm definitely not 100% sure.
not only this but bikes cant be older than 5 years. meaning at this point you can only race a bike as old as 2011

Why the catch can? I know it's only a few ounces plus coolant and a bolt if required extra, but you've gone to such degrees to take away weight and just added something which isn't necessary or required? Bit of bling factor I suppose or green factor? If using biodegradable phosphate free Engine Ice, that isn't a problem.

Just an extra precaution to prevent overheating. The 2002-2004 CR250's used radiators with a 24mm core, the later 2005-2007 bikes used radiators with a 28mm core for increased cooling capacity. Considering the amount of compression this setup has I felt it wouldn't be a bad idea, especially with the thinner, lighter radiators.

The entire coolant recovery tank with bracket weights 135 grams. If weight was my only concern on the bike I would run air forks and save 2 pounds.

You can run the 04 and up CDI, just don't plug in the TPS sensor obviously. I did see one on ebay the other day as well when I was looking for something else.

I know Enzo has the PSF forks figured out better than anybody but I really like the feel of spring forks. I am just not sold on the air concept enough to switch. I know there are advantages in certain conditions but I don't feel they offer enough advantages to outweigh the disadvantages (just my opinion)

With that said, If I was inclined to run air forks on my bike the forks you mentioned would be my weapon of choice.

I am not sure if it is the same source that I bought a clutch and ignition cover from about 6 months ago, but if it is I would recommend staying away from them. The carbon fiber was of terrible quality and there was so much resin in it that the parts were heavier than OEM. It may have been an isolated occurrence but I sent the covers back to Europe and it took me a month to get my money refunded through PayPal. Not exactly a good experience on my end.

quick question. how much clearance are you leaving from your chain around the front sprocket to your guard. looks real close.
i've got a rekluse adjustable slave on my kx500 and its insanely tight, i may be able to get .050 clearance from it and wondering if thats enough room for error.
