I'm not saying that @westonpeick should throw punches, but I am saying that the @fs1 coverage showed @vincefriese riding like an idiot at least 4 time last night. Fading over triples, and in rhythm sections on @deanwilson15 and twice on @westonpeick Most Pro's on the track have experienced what I'm talking about.

Friese is a giant infected zit on the ass of the sport. I'll bet Piecks fine will get paid from a hat full of money that got passed around the pits.

Windham said it best, Friese has been riding like an idiot since birth. No penalty whatsoever for him proves that idiots run the sport.

He's actually a rider whose changed his dirty style and has focused on technique and training to become one of the faster riders as we've seen last night, not to mention on a totally independant team without major support, factory backing, high level trainers and the other benefits the top riders have to assist them. yes he's had a rough career and is known for his less than intelligent decisions on track, but he hasn't been like that, he's sharp with his race craft and putting in the work to get faster. if you can't respect what he has done with himself and his career then....
Newmann's post is right on.

As for 4thGear, did he have a relapse last night? Maybe VF needs to get back in rehab. In his first two races I counted 3 less than intelligent moves on the track, the third that resulted in the Peick incident.

Too many political correct sissy's on this forum. There is no damage done. This is not Track and field people!! This sport is more along the line of hockey. If your gonna run the risk of throwing a 200+ pound bike into someone, expect for that someone to come back with fists blazing.

By most of your logic it would have been better to retaliate in the form of using his bike instead of being a man and standing up to a clown who rides dirty.

Everyone on here saying how this is bad for our sport is a complete goon. I can name plenty of riders, even past champs who have done the same thing. Everyone has a boiling point and VF55 found out that his riding and mouth have been put in check...
Punching someone in the back of a helmet is not a manly move, it is a loss of control that shows ignorance.

If that is how the AMA feels then they need to specify that. This is not the first time we've seen somebody land punches on somebody after being taken out and I can't ever think of a 2 race suspension.

What happened to Justin Bogle when he hit Mookie in the back of the head after being taken out in Dallas a couple years ago?

Friese is such of punk. He rides like an asshole and then put his head between his legs when confronted with some physical challenges. Lol, he got what he deserved.

I like how if you don't support a dirty rider getting blasted with several measured shots, you must be a liberal, a pussy, or pee sitting down or not be a bad ass or whatever. All I can say is that deciding to dole out the punishment yourself is not something to be proud of. It's not something to uphold and it won't help the sport out. Who wants to ride with someone on the track who may blast you several times in the head? Who wants to walk around on eggshells with that dude.

There is unsportsmanlike conduct....shoving, yelling in someones face (Barcia), checking them in corners and throwing fingers, standing on their bikes....that stuff you can shrug off as a highly emotional situation where someone just got caught up. WP didn't accidently lose it. He teed off and then decided "F it..." and kept swinging. That is different and I don't care how much the dude deserves it...I honestly expected AMA to put him out for the remainder of the season.

And if you want to say I'm a pussy or liberal or mangina, whatever. I've kicked plenty of ass when I was young and stupid and poor. Now I own sh*t and I've grown up and follow the rules like everyone else. I still want to blast people, but I want more for a court to not judge against me and undo all that I worked for. Someday the rest of the kids here will also own some stuff and learn about how life works.

Does anybody use common sense anymore or are we all just dumb f'in liberals now? How about take the totality of the situation into account..Peick is wrong and overreacted but Freise had a helmet on and was really not in any danger of a head injury, has a history of this kind of thing and etc. So calm down with the assault charge for cryin out loud...again step back and look at it with common sense and you know this is not a criminal incident.
Exactly. TECHNICALLY you could say it was assault, but you wouldn't even bring it up if you actually ever raced. People.

The Peick penalty is fine, but Friese getting nothing is bullshit. Just in what FS1 showed I saw 4 or 5 things, like cross jumping through a rhythm section, that if it had been me Friese did it to I would have parked him in the fucking stands.

As a liberal, I think WP should have gone all in and beat the hell out of him.

jmarts spot at jgr just got free.
as kdub said, friese rode like an idiot but weston just went to far. i mean, this wasn't a fight, it was a beating. friese did not punch back or anything and weston just lost it. can't see jgr putting up with that behaviour.

The problem is that people can't go around just punching others because they are mad.

Does Freise still have a lawsuit going against him from the fight at Glen Helen?

Weston just should have gotten back on the bike and sent Vince a photo of the amount of his paycheck after the main. Lesson learned for him I'm sure but he didn't instigate the fight. He was behind Vince after the start of that race and passed him clean. He didn't even try dicking around with him as payback for the previous takeout which I sort of expected. A lap later and he's got a bike crashing into him. That was the start of the fight.

If I took a guy out like that while we were racing for a living, I would not be the least bit surprised to see a fist in my face as soon as we got up. I would probably expect it and prepare for it. Especially against a guy that's known to be aggressive. There should be repercussions for riding that way, the AMA wasn't going to do anything to Friese, so I suppose that was Peiks way of letting him know that he would appreciate it if he didn't do that to him again. What other way (knowing that the AMA won't do anything) do you suggest making Friese see the error of his ways??? A stern talking to??

Anyone follow football here? I cant help but think that VF looked like the rams punter after he cheap shot Cliff Avril. Sucks for Pieck, but this what happens when Feld/AMA etc dont police the rider properly. VF has a history of take outs, he was squirrel city on the track tonight cross jumping etc. If the "refs" dont do anything about it, the riders eventually will. Prime example here.

preferably when he hasn't got a tons of cameras watching him? Peick is a paid professional sx/mx racer not a paid boxer, like it or not he stepped over the line.

Yes Friese was an ass and always has been, does not excuse what Peick did only explains why he did

Absolutely! My son asked me why did that guy punch the other one (hes 4). My eldest son said, "the one running away rides dangerous and is a little bitch, the other one is tired of it." I feel i have not contributed to the pussification and im glad. Half of u fairies around here sound like the worst soccer moms. When did it become so bad to bust someone when they were being a POS. Damn times were simpler. We live in a goofy age for sure
Self-proclaimed internet badasses, right here!
There is always someone down the road who has a lot less to lose than you do....and they will almost surely call you a pussy somewhere during the exchange. I believe I learned that in my early 20's.... Good luck, guys!

It has nothing to do with being manly, You could argue and say Freise wasn't being manly by not turning around to face Peick. Lol

I'm not surprised with the penalty, but I am surprised its so harsh given the circumstances. Just fine him and let him race.

It was assault. When you punch another person and it's not self defense, it IS assault. Whether it was assault or not does not depend on the injuries incurred, that would only play into what extent the prosecutor could charge. Both players and coaches have been criminally charged for assault on the playing field, Peick is not exempt because it is a sporting event.
With your logic, yes it was self defense. Friese hit him with his motorcycle, which in a court of law would be considered assault with a deadly weapon.

And the AMA is at fault here. If they had done their jobs a long time ago when it comes to Friese, last nights incident probably would never have happened.
