Good thing those pics are from the standing water on the side of the track - not the track itself....the track appears to be covered quite well.... I am sure it will still be pretty sloppy in the low spots, but having those pumps and maybe adding some sand to absorb the standing water may help things out.....as long as it doesnt rain once the track is uncovered, it might not be too bad....Saturday rain is the key....
Hope that sounds as good as it did in my head
Pit Row
Example: Darryl King won a SX mudder
Sure it will shake up the points and maybe you see an anomoly rise up and win....does that really matter when a 15th place guy wins and never sniffs the front again? There is no SX skill involved in riding a sloppy mud race for the most part and you could see a series heavy hitter fall out of the title chase at the very beginning of the year, how is that a good thing?
A lot of teams are even riding their practice bikes because to them, its not worth destroying a fully prepped race bike, SX is not Endurocross and to me its not at all exciting to think any rider may fall way out of the points chase due to a DNF in the mud....look at the big letdown that was the Musquin/Martin final 2 moto battle that never was thanks to a faulty fuel pump.
For what its worth im not trying to project myself as bitter and despise mud races but they really dont serve a purpose in SX in my opinion, fans dont show up etc...just my thoughts on the subject im not wholeheartedly disagreeing with any of you as I have been riding for 32 of my 37 years on this earth and have never liked this shit show that is a mud race.....Flame on if you must just wanted to post my thoughts on mudders in SX....and by mudders I dont mean a semi-muddy track with ruts that can still be ridden at 75% im talking about the feet off the pegs bikes sliding, no jumping bikes quitting kind of mud race it appears A1 2016 could turn out to be.
