RV2 becomes official test rider for kawasaki?

Mike to Ryan, "Rv you will need to slow it down at the practice track" both riders are getting upset.

in several interviews ryan mentioned that he'd like to be involved with the further development of the bike and is in talks with kawasaki. nothing official as of now but this IS post has him riding sx tomorrow. if it is for official testing, how much do you think will it help eli and will for this coming season? he is arguably the fastes test rider out there.

the radiator flares stick out too much and the dunlop logo's on the tires aren't aligned. also the length of the RV logo is out of proportion to the rest of the bike

i give her a 6.5 at best. i'd ride it, but only if i was paid to

I still think it's funny that people don't think his trip to the GPs will taint his legacy. The picture of the loop out will follow him for a very long time.

I don't disagree with that at all. I'm not saying a not-so-hot GP performance and a loop out knock him off the podium of greatest riders in history, but people will always remember his failed trip to the GPs.
I'm more surprised people think it was that bad.... He went out at the 4th(?) round with a bad start due to crashes and a electrical issue. First race in forever tho. A win and a couple 4ths or something? And despite everyone's comments if you look where he was when he looped he was right in the mix. If he didn't break his ass he was by no means out of anything, and again, after a huge layoff, new team, bike and circuit.

Don't even get me started on the "2" on the stand not matching the color green "2" on his graphics. It's like they didn't even try.

rd is the second most winning rider outdoor already , he could easily race another 5 years . if he wins another two sx titles , which is no garrantee . but is nt that long shot either , he will have achieved more than rv imo . plus RD did beat RV straight up in 10 SX , he was leading the point s and had won more races than RV at the time of RV getting injured so i think its unfair to say he has never beat RV . my main point is i am not saying RD is a better rider than RV( he is not imo) its just id put money on in 20 year s, when people look back, they only see numbers on a page . and imo RD number s ,will be alot higher ,i honestly think in the next 5 year s he can win 2 more SX titles and at least 2 more MX titles . but i dont think he will do i back to back . RD has 38 450 outdoor wins to RV s 12 450 wins . even though RV is the quicker rider . in 20 year people will look at that and think dungey owned RV . the only people who wont is us , who are now the really old gumpy men trying to tell people it was nt true

maybe one of the reasons rd is still racing is that now rv is gone he acutally can win sx championships. rv owned rd every year he finished the season. rd managed to pass rv and go on to win the main once. once! that was rd hometown sx. not hating on rd, the guy is a beast.

I wouldn't call his gp effort a fail either, getting injured is unfortunately part of the fun in this sport. he said from the very beginning that this would be his last season, no matter the result.
i tottaly agree with you . my point is tho in 20yr s time looking back ryan dungeys stat s will be better . and people will think of dungey ahead of RV . 38 outdoor wins is a hell of alot . if he races 4 more year s he could easly be up to 60 wins . RV has 12, 450 wins and 2 450 championships outdoors , dungey has 3 , already . if he get s 2 more sx championships he will equal RV and prob have more win than him too , the one thing i disagree with is , as i said before dungey beat RV straight up in 2010 he was leading the championship ,and had more wins over RV at the time RV cartwheeled . it was near the end of the season before RV got hurt . and i tottaly agree with the GP effort . i think he did really well ,just a real pitty he got injured . and what pisses me off ,is even after all this, very little USA fans give the credit to the world champ riders being as good as RV , nope it was RV rode terrible if he rode the way he use to he would win every race by 30 seconds .

^^why do you care about Americans supposed opinion of GP rider's speed? What a bizarre thing to care about.

Yea and seems kinda funny if he were testing for Eli using Showa suspension while Eli uses KYB. I have to think this difference would have a pretty good effect on the handling, performance and feel of the bike, hence the reason riders are switching. if the differences were nil then why bother switching?

Oh and this.....didnt want to be confused with MC who has SEVEN titles? LOL seems kind of funny he or they would note RV's 4 titles on the plate to differentiate him like that.

MC probably saw his plates and thought "Thats cute, they didnt have room to put a roman numeral VII as in MY seven titles to your 4 but you enjoy that kiddo youre 3 short and Ive got twice the wins" haha

Im just glad hes totally not done with dirt bikes all together. Cool to see him still involved
Most of these guys still like to ride for fun. Even guys that dropped out for years or even a decade!

Give any of those guys a bike and say, "tomorrow after it rains, lets go hit the hill tracks and cliff jumps"........they are all over it.

Compared to
Lets go pound motos at the test track..............fuck that noise.

Sure, now and then, but all the time, plus racing, they are over it.

not saying RV2 ,is nt a great test rider to get the bike set up for himself . but surly he would be a pointless test rider for 99% or ever other pro s . i cant think of any rider who rides like him at the moment . as DV said 120 mm sag , very stiff front forks and stears with the rear everywhere . not saying it isnt a brilliant ,way to ride . just no one else rides like him .
And what makes DV god? RV has accomplished way more than DV has.

Arguably the faster test rider out there? It's not arguable at all. He is the fastest test rider out there if he is in fact doing this.

Wow, them wheels look out of shape with the amount of pressure on them! What an exciting rider he was to watch. Sorry to say I've never been a fan, got close on the lead up to the GPS with him opening up on IG , then the silence put me back to where I was , especially when seeing so many riders in the GPS riding with injury or coming straight back from, it wasn't disappointing, just sort of expected somehow.

All this talk about RV testing for Eli and Will I just want to know, is Eli well. A couple weeks ago there was a thread that Eli was hurt but then that thread went bad fast. I peaked in here every couple days but nothing. Was/is Eli hurt at the moment?

I like how the manufacturers are starting to add a little more plastic to the bodywork. I never liked the look of minimalist plastic and a big aluminum spar sticking out. I think it simply looks cooler with more coverage around the air box area.

Looks like Kawi is making sure green stays RV's favorite color. And they should.

How can you doubt that someone that just won the 2011,'12, '13 and '14 450SX Championship on a Kawasaki 450 would be NO help to setting up Eli's bike? Even if RV did not know how to translate his feelings into words, the data gathered from him doing laps alone would be a HUGE help. And, like ML said, I've heard he's become quite in tune with the bike in his later years.
