I wonder how many Americans rode 2 strokes in that series. I understand what they are trying to do. Most of the American riders have pretty good support up there. They are trying to help the local Canadian riders.

I will admit that it has an aggressive tone to it. lol

The bullshit thing about all of this...

If Benoit is now more dominant on a 4 stroke none of the 2 stroke rules will be revisited. They're building a dead end for the bike in the class with all the addendums. Just nut up and get rid of it and say it was a mistake if you have to have eligibility rules as long as a christmas wish list.

The Canadian series was gaining momentum with the fans and obviously with some of the competitors. Odd they would want to shit that all down the toilet.

Not odd at all. Japanese manufacturers went probably crying or demanding this rule. I would guess that Honda was the first of the Japanese manufacturers to push this rule.

Benoit was only competitive for the title on the 2 stroke, I watched it with my own eyes at dechaumbault. When he rode the 4 stroke he was still a top 5 guy but he didn't come around on lap 1 with a 12 second lead like he did in both motos and then almost every other race after that when he was on the two stroke. Allowing that rule to stick is pure cheating. Two strokes are great but if u want to allow a rule up there to be equivalent it should be 200cc two strokes against 250 fourstrokes. There's to much sand for this to be fair, sorry. Now in America I can see a stock 250 being competitive with Canada's 2015 rules because the tracks are harder pack and smoother and the weather is more consistent. But in Canada im sorry the tracks have big sand bumps and huge hills where the 2 stroke picks up out of the corner eay better then the 4strokes

Canadians are such arrogant nationalist bastards.
All this does is hurt a bunch of financially challenged NW privateers who like to race up there to get speed and experience and are in no way title contenders and cant even hit every race.

The next step will be CAN citizens only. period.

Jeff, didn't Kaven switch bikes the year before last depending on the track? I thought there were a few tracks with firmer dirt where he decided to ride the 4 stroke two years ago.
But your right.... depending on the soil, depends on whether the 2 stroke is at an advantage or a disadvantage.

what would you race up there if you only had the choice of

-stock 2-stroke
-motoconcepts fully prepped 250f

IF

We'll see how he does all season on one. It will either not matter much at all or CMRC will look like a bunch of Doomsday preppers.

What, didn't he win the title the prior year riding the two stroke AND four stroke. Think you may need some laser surgery on your own eyes that saw that...

So maybe the Canadian's riding on US soil should have bikes hand picked for them. To bad on this whole deal. I honestly never paid attention to CRMC before they allowed 2strokes to play..... the whole let them play unless they win idea is fucked! Back to not giving two shit's about CRMC for me.

So basically it boils down to .... you are not allowed to win on a two stroke. Good to know !!

The 2t vs 4t thing is, every track will have places that each have an advantage. It should even itself out. There have been tests on various tracks with a wide range of rider skills, that bear this out. The fastest rider runs the fastest lap times. And what if an up and coming unsponsored rider from the US wants to race his 2t on his own dime? Oh, he's screwed, stay home, we don't want you here in Canada. What if we did this to Canadian riders? Crazy!
11/12/2015 2:19pm
That's just Canada for you. You should try being a Canadian company looking anywhere outside of Canada for talent. Holy crap do they have to jump through hoops and walls of fire just to hire consultants for 1 week, not even full time employees.

Protectionism. If I can't win, I'm not going to let you play with my ball anymore. It's the Canadian way. Although we are quickly adopting it as well.

Just lie and show up with some phony documents, it's not like the CMRC is staffed with a bunch of super-sleuths with passport scanners.
11/12/2015 2:43pm
Wonder how they would've felt if the AMA had forced JSR to race a different bike just because he was Canadian. I'm sure that would've gone over well with the Canadian fans.

Oh, but it was ok for 250 4 strokes to race against the 125's. What happened with all the pro's saying 2 strokes were to hard to ride for the long motos. Face it the 2 stroke rules are changed to benifet a few of the manufactures. Most things done for the sake of politics, weather government or in this case MX, is usually stupid.

Yeah unbelieveable.

just put a restriction that top 5 in Canada and top X in AMA or GP cannot ride 2 stroke if you want to protect amateurs

Agreed. 250 vs 125 is ok and 250 vs 250 isnt. Makes no sense.

It's the same thing the other way believe me. Simply going to the states for training can be a pain in the a** let forget working on the other side of the fence.

I'm part of a provincial race serie in Quebec and we have a 2-stroke open class. This year it was full gate. Let just say that nobody agree on the ''Benoit rule''. Too bad Honda, kawasaki and Suzuki decide to not listen to the customer market. The AF market will only continue to grow.

Must be a vegetarian. Must be Caucasian. Must run Pump gas. Cannot be an Aquarius or Libra. Let's just go all the way with the dumb shit. This sport is such a joke on the pro level. Sorry.

All of you ranting and raving about only Canadians being able to ride a two stroke, did you consider they made that rule because there's no way for them to govern people who show up for one off races from other countries, who could potentially already be at an advantage?

I am still in shock that the rule " Only Canadian's are allowed to ride 2 strokes "....WTF? Blink Blink Dizzy Dizzy

This rule was read probably by many people , and nobody saw an issue with it? How could that possibly be? I really don't understand.

That's what tech inspection is for. You go out and blow the doors off everyone down the straits , it's probably a guarantee that your bike would get torn down.
