Monster Mountain. One of the top tracks in the nation?

Hey Guys,

We were out at Monster Mountain MX Park filming and vending for the 2015 Kawasaki Top Kid Showcase and Bone Collector Vet Challenge. I personally think Monster Mountain is one of the best tracks in the nation. What do you guys think?

I think it is better than half the tracks in the Nationals.

No, I have not been there in a while, but I've ridden at Monster since the mid '90s. As a matter of fact, my profile picture is on the back Vintage track at Monster Mountain.

The only complaint I have is the jumps being so small. In the 90s and early 2000s it was still safe but had some good healthy jumps. Dirt is great.

I think once chase got hurt I haven't seen a big jump out there since. Remember how big the "stairway to heaven" used to be? Now a 65 can over jump it

I've never been, but I've been trying to get over there. It's about 3-1/2 hours from my house, but by the looks of it, worth every minute of the drive.

As far as the jumps go, I think it's perfect. With dirt like that, you want your tires on the ground as much as possible.

I was there a few years back at the invite of Tom Brinkman and while I didn't get to ride much other than a couple of laps on a CRF150, I have to say it rates as one of the best tracks I've ever been on. Next time I head to Alabama, I will take some riding gear (don't like riding without knee braces) and find a bigger bike and get at it!

Muddy Creek is another excellent track, and a bigger facility. Plus, Alabama in June or July gets pretty damn hot. Looked at Swan too, another great track but way down south.

I've always thought it would be a good track for a national. Seems parking and access for the big rigs has held it back.

For some reason as soon as I saw the thread title and then opened it , looked at what the video capture screen looked like...it so reminded me of this.

Hey DC I am honored at the thought that you may have watched my video! haha. Also very thankful that we finally got a national in the southeast! My family and I have made the trip up to Muddy Creek every year for the national and its pretty toasty up there too! Anyways keep up the good work!

Yeah! You know how things seem bigger when you were younger? It's like the bikes got faster and the hills became smaller. I forgot about that wreck. I thought it was the new owner making a financially wise decision. It's a lot more user friendly. But I'm stuck in the 90s. I miss the old style double where it was a do or die type jump.

It's from an old motocross game called " motocross madness 2 ". Way back in the early to mid 2000's , many of us were hooked , including myself. That was one of my all time favorite tracks back then. Actually some of the track creators still post here. Gawd....I had so many racing night that I was still cutting laps until the sun was coming up...and that was on work nights haha!

Gotcha. My favorite from back in the day was MTX Mototrax with the track creator. Where did you get the sweet avatar? Did you do that yourself?
