He decided he doesn't want to ride for a team anymore? Haha. How many races did he do this year?

I like Durham a lot but I'm pretty sure that's his way of saying "I didn't get a ride for 16 so I'm just going to be a privateer instead of retiring"

ya that probably has to do with more of his decision. Hmmm, live under someone elses rule but get paid....or do it on my own and live on top ramen and mac & cheese?

that being said there is something to be said for going it on your own. You can test where you like i.e. near home and you can run what you like(or afford)

PRESS RELEASE:
Dallas, Texas
October 2, 2015

After much thought and deliberation, TriRacer27 has decided to go his own way for the 2016 season. Despite great interest in riding for Mitch Payton's Pro Circuit team and Troy Lee's KTM team, he has decided that the privateer route is best for him. "Yeah, I initially really wanted to do a deal with Mitch or Troy to race their bikes, but in the end I realized that what's important for me is freedom. I want to be free to pick the parts I want to race with in my pursuit of the Hill Billy Backyard Texas Championship, or to not race at all, depending on how I feel that morning. Best of luck to Mitch and Troy in the 2016 season."

Good luck triracer. Just remember when ordering parts don't end up in the same situation Davi did. You might want to use FedEx or OnTrac

Someone commented saying the same thing and he fired back and said it's not the case... I don't buy it though. His last 2 teams are PC and TLD and he's done a handful of races total, probably making a decent salary and didn't provide anything back. This will probably be his last year even trying to race if he doesn't set the world on fire and stay healthy. He has nasty style and seems like a good kid, hope he can pull it off.

did he win a race as a privateer.........?

obviously the "privateer" route gives you more freedom and less rules to follow since you are not obligated to contract, but not many guys have gone the privateer route by choice while living the lifestyle they want to live and still put good results down at the races....

I have met DD and he is a super cool dude.....So i hope he does well and most importantly has fun.......we have seen guys win and win a lot...but they were not having fun doing it.....so, if its his decision, than good for him.

If that's what it takes for him to stay healthy and ride to his potential I'm 100% for the decision.

He decided not to ride for a team this year like Trump decided to drop all of HIS sponsors. I mean, who wouldn't want to pay their own way rather then have Troy Lee or Mitch pay it for em'? I'm doing the same thing this year.

Im under the understanding he is forming his own team, has some backing, going to based in California ,be on Yamahas, and have at least one other rider. Also the team will be known as "The Viewing". On the other hand ,I could be completely full of shit.....either way,Im pulling for the guy .

What frustrates me the most about DD is that he got 2 INCREDIBLE rides and spend about 90% of the available races out with injury yet there were a million videos of him hacking huge booters in the hills with his "boys" I realize there is a lot more that goes into finishing races but it always seemed to me that he missed at least half of those races wjen he could've raced IMO. As a privateer he seemed to be at the races a lot more but soon as he signed a big team contract he hardly ever raced. I hope he figures it out bec like its been mentioned a million times before he got incredible natural talent and skills/fundamentals to go fast w/o heavy training like some riders. He could easily win a sx title if he were more focused and didn't get injured so much again that's just my opinion.

And I think teams have caught on to this home the reason hes "chosen" to go privateer this year only I dont believe it was a chiloice, more like his only option. He and Hanny would be a good team though. If he could foot his portion of the cost I think it would be a good combo both Hanny and Durahm.

I'm a huge Durham fan so I'm biased. Didn't get a ride, fuck em! He probably doesn't blame too many teams for not signing him after the past couple years. Hell, he might rip up that 125 he posted a video on. Stankdog has become a sensation, imagine another fast guy like Durham out there on a 2 stroke!

I think Durham should race the 450 class, make a bit of money at least.

Yes Bob,you may have, but Im reporting what I know from a damn good source. And that KTM was a TLD bike. He already had that deal and bikes, but contrary to what some of these "insiders" are spouting,it WAS his choice to bail on that program and go the route he hinted on his instagram,.

Always get a tracking number for your parts Davi.

In related news, Durham has also decided that it's in his best interest to give up sex for 2016....and just take care of that himself, too. Tongue

Different strokes for different folks. I'm pullin for ya DD.

I gotta say, to all the people who are downplaying his merit, what have you done? He has had a very bad string of injuries, where he has been pushed back into returning sometimes earlier than he should have... Leading to injury. The dude wants to ride good equipment on his own terms, let's see how it goes!

The TLD looking ktm he was seen riding recently is a bike he bought last year when he got the TLD ride. And the 2016 KTM seen in here http://m.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Moto-isnt-dead-shred-pics,1… is a test bike for PR2, not his bike.

I'm pulling for him regardless, a lot of the people on here talkin shit really don't know shit. Been friends with him for awhile and I think he will do better this route. He still wants to go out and ride a dirtbike and put a show on, why cut a person down for that.

If you say no to a Pro-Circuit Monster Kawi or a FMF Red Bull KTM, we can only assume he wants to ride a Yoshimura Honda sponsored by Rockstar or an Akrapovic Yamaha with unbound or... etc etc

Right?

Right.
