You ever get that fast , still enjoy riding , you won't start slowing down till your 40 - 50yrs old haha. I'm not sure what his future plans are but I don't know if we'll see him on a bike much. I think he's supposed to become something like an ambassador for Kawi or something like that?

Maybe he'll realize one day that winning big pro events isn't what MX is all about now that his career is over. It's about enjoying the ride and just having fun. Take the seriousness out of it and it opens up a whole new world of what this sport is really about.

There is no other sport like this on the planet , and any true , real moto head knows exactly what I'm talking about.
You always have a opinion with absolutely no real humor ever. If I was your wife, I would pull all my hair out from extreme boredom.
I would just about put money on RV still riding and staying fit. The fun will be there with no pressure. Doesn't his wife work in the fitness I industry?

If the Legend Race sparks off, will he be able to ride it next year? I can see RV faster in the future after he starts having fun riding again. Whats the rules on being able to ride the Monster Energy Cup?
He will be fast, but he won't be race speed fast unless he is riding more than not riding. That's just MNO. If he starts hunting and just comes off the couch I don't think he would win, but then again you never know.

I would say yer right but fact is, riding is so fucking fun that someday he will want to feel that feeling again. Undeniable... remember how fun it was when you first rode a dirt bike?

The guy said multiple times it was just a job to him and he really didn't enjoy it.

Do you think Tammy, the local Wal Mart greeter, will ever go back in and say hi to people walking in for shits and gigs after she retires?

Absolutely! Totally get that riding for work definitely has taken the fun out of it for RV, but someday he'll have fun riding again.

I doubt we will ever see him on a bike again in the near future, and if we do it will not be one of these races. If he ever does one of these things it will be 10+ years from now.

I get that it's a job and it tends to lose the "fun factor" after a while. You see it in a lot of pros when they hit the retirement age. Thing is, most retiring MXer's seem to show at least some enjoyment leading up to retirement. RV, to me, just never really looked happy the last several years. Oh, one day he might go back to riding for enjoyment, but it might be some time. Maybe when he has some kids and they want to ride will it be enjoyable again. Hell, I don't know.

I see RV as a lot like Hannah in retirement over the MC style retirement. I think you might see him doing "Brand Ambassador" functions for Kawasaki occasionally, but never on a bike.

Yep highly doubt it. Spoke with Roger Hayden and he told me when he was training out in Cali last winter he talked to RV. RV told him all he was doing was counting down the days to September and after that you won't catch him on a bike again.

I think he fell out of his Mom fast - he ain't stoppin' now.

The bigger question is will we ever get to see it, or will he be Over It now, Larry Ward style. I kinda think the latter.

My guess is that he'll stay in pretty good shape, though, judging by his gal who is crazy fit. I don't think the Domino's driver is going to know his house like some others that retired. But if he balloons, so be it. He's earned the right to sit and be a sloth for the rest of his life.
