I'm not leaving moto but I am starting a hockey podcast with Ray Ferraro in a few weeks. This thread is silly but thanks for the kind words, including the guy that said I used to be funny.
Podcast #1 topic: The Leafs entire team vs Carey Price and why Price would win 5-0

Joking aside, best of luck with the new stuff.

Thanks for clearing that up Matthes, between this rumor and the stock market tumbling I was on the verge of laying or the train tracks

Never heard of him. Who is he and what does he do? Not being a smart ass I honestly don't know. Based on the number of comments he seems well known? I take it he does a podcast, however, I don't know what a podcast is....

Agree or disagree with what the guy says, he contributes quite a bit to this sport. Behind his occasional rants you can tell he has a love for the sport. Im someone who doesn't agree with everything he says but I'm very thankful for what he brings to this sport.

He writes for Racer X and also has his own motocross media organization called Pulp MX. He's done a ton of podcasts with current and former motocross riders, champs, idustry people, etc. He also has a radio show on Monday nights called the pulp mx show and he does a pre race show on Thursday for 1 hour called the Fly Moto 60 show.

Pulpmx.com is his site. There's some really cool content on there. Pulpmxshow.com is where you can listen to his show live on Monday nights.

He was a mechanic for years in the mid 90s to the early 2000s which is his background.

Oh and a podcast is an audio clip typically styled like a radio show designed to be listened on a phone, MP3 player, computer, etc not live. Like a radio version of a YouTube video but one you can download rather than stream online.

Check out the interview on Racer X with MM25. The first question is That sucked what happened !!!

Pure greatness with that question. No wonder he would think about leaving the sport. Hey Russell Wilson that sucked what happened ?? LOL

I think Steve would have more business opportunities in motocross if he ran his show in a more professional manner.

The Tim Ferry stuff and self promotion got old years ago, as well as the tiresome, blatant and amateurish product plugs during his show.

Jason Weigandt and his professional manner and method of presentation would be good to emulate.
You would probably enjoy DMXS. All politically correct and professional, and completely uninteresting.

I like his passion for MX and hope that continues.
Plus, anyone who knows where Medicine Hat is, is good in my book.

I don't always agree with him (what fun would that be anyway) but I appreciate and enjoy his contributions.

Greatly appreciate you taking the time to respond and educate me. I've been racing and riding for 43 years and stay pretty current. I've read about the Pulp MX show in numerous threads just didn't know he was they man behind the show. I'll check out his various offerings. Sounds like good stuff.

Again, thanks.

I respect him for laying it all on the line all the time. He speaks his mind, even though he can be ostracized from the industry, we have all seen how it works. It takes balls to do that...

Nice job Steve..

Dude! If you're an old timer you NEED to get an iphone sorted out with his pods... The pulp show is great, sorta Stern-ish... But what you'll love is all the interviews with the old timers. It's bad ass. He's hit most of them and they're all great.

I am a big fan of all of the content Steve puts out, it will be a sad day in the MX community if and when he hangs it up. In fact, I will even go as far to say the guy will be legend in 10-15 years if he keeps at it, one of a kind for sure.

Does Steve have the sort of contacts and relationships in other sports that he does in MX? I think it would be a big mistake to assume he can do the same in hockey that he has done in Moto. Is he good friends with someone like Mike Sillinger (the 'JT' of the hockey world....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Sillinger). Is Steve a 4 time Manitoba Minor League Hockey MVP? Did he work for multiple NHL teams as a trainer? Are there star NHL players that Steve was in the trenches with...who he can reminisce with? None of the above....? It's who you know... Sometimes it is better to be a big fish in a little pond.

Honestly it will suck if he leaves. Pulp and his associated stuff with Weege and JT is the best coverage in the sport and the only inside line to any real info for MX fanatics. I love DMXS but they're a different show all together.

I agree. Those three kill it.

I've listened to 1k hours plus of the content pulp puts out. I enjoy it on my drive to work. But I never have understood why he did the goggle thing, seemed like more of a pain than it is worth.

Steve you do a great job, don't leave for gay ass hockey.

I listen to everything steve puts out. My only complaint is that he always says light "rate" fly hydrogen gear, haha.
