Hi, Does anyone remember the rider's nicknames for the Plano Honda team? I can only remember I.T. as Hot Sauce. I'm asking because I purchased some riding gear years ago and would like to match up the riders to the gear. Thanks for any help.

TEAM PLANO

Ivan Tedesco: Poision Ivy, as he is known by his teammates, put on a late charge during the final few rounds of the 125 Nationals. Recognized more for his 125 Supercross talent than outdoor prowess Tedesco should be a challenger for the 125 East coast crown.

Billy Payne: A Kawasaki rider for most of his racing career, Billy Payne will be marking a new point in his career with the switch to Hondas. All Billy needs to do to improve on his 2000 season is to stay healthy, stay up and stay consistent.

Travis Elliot: We’re not sure why Plano kept Travis on the roster for 2001, but it might have something to do with him being a Plano local.

Jiri Dostal: Having a few good 125 Supercross rides in 2000 was enough for Jiri to keep his ride. Jiri will need to stay healthy and get in a little better shape if he wants to improve.

Ping did ride. I went to the Honda dealership off of 635 to get a cylinder resleeved, they sent my to this small machine shop way out in the sticks about 30 mins east of Dallas. The owner of that place is Steve Wagner, he was the owner of Plano Honda in their heyday. Very cool guy, I had a long chat with him about the racing days. Shark Energy really screwed him. He had to sell the business to pay back Honda.

I have this poster too. Justin Smith was my favorite local pro to watch ride when I was a kid. I remember being devastated when he crashed in Supercross and went through everything he did.

And I stand corrected on the Ping thing. Wow, I don't remember that at all and I loved the Plano Honda team. It was such a bummer how it all ended with Shark screwing them.

Correct. Shorted a triple in San diego practice and got landed on. He had really bad head trauma, they had him in a medically induced coma for a while and it was touch and go on the updates from what I remember. It was the end of his very short pro career and he had a lot of rehab he had to do from what I heard. I remember seeing him on a pit bike years later going insanely fast but that was the last time I ever saw him.

There is a full race prep Grayson goodman Plano Honda cr 250 for sale here in Texas. It doesn't have suspension but the bike is like almost new. It actually still belongs to Grayson it was his last Plano race bike.

How is Grayson doing these days. I remember him double classing and riding both mains a few times on the SMP bikes

I don't personally know him. So I couldn't accuratly answer the question. Just know someone that knows him and was asking if I was interested in buying the bike.

I had heard that Goodman was having some personal struggles. Hopefully those are behind him now.
