Farleigh VMXdN - holy crap I think I'm going

I have been reading about Farleigh for a while, via the web and VMX mag etc. My girlfriend and I are going to the UK in September and I just realized we will be around for Farleigh. We will actually be in Bath, pretty close by.

I think I can pull this off and get to the races for at least one day. Anyone here from the UK and or who have been to this event? What do I need to know? How far is it from Bath, really? Will I need to rent a car or is there public transit etc? What do I need to know about the weekend's proceedings?

It's 5 miles down the road!

The traffic's so crap getting out of there on the Sunday, you could walk it if you needed to.

Rock up, visit the beer / cider tent, watch Doug Dubach go to work.

The U.S. Team looks amazing this year.

It's all really laid back and easy going, no huge race trucks, just loads of guys living out of vans and tents for a few days. Even the atmosphere's oldskool.

Apparently Trampas Parker's on an HRC replica '91 CR250. Gonna be great to see.
Team Airhammer always bring some great looking YZ's, and the German Huskys are the trickest looking things in the pits.

Some ace bikes at Farleigh usually, as we didn't get saddled with the production rule for '87.
Fortunately there's no separate pits, so you get to see all the bikes up close, and most riders are up for a chat.

We will be there again with our Team International Air Hammer team racing YZ490's

Bath is not far from the track at all, I can't remember seeing a bus that goes by the track but I know people that have gotten taxis both from Bath to the track or the track into Bath and it didn't cost much.

The night life at Farleigh is bitchin', I would highly recommend that you try and turn a day into the night as well as the beer tent there at night is a great place to be.

The proceedings usually go, Friday is scrutineering or tech here in the States, Sat morning is all the qualifying which usually starts with Over 50 Twinshocks, then in the afternoon the motos start and run until the cutoff time, then Sunday they start from where they stopped and continue until the program is done. They Sunday night we all go nuts in the local pub.

The bikes, the track, the people, the racing, it's all epic, we went in 2012 for the first time and were so taken in by it that now for us the whole rest of the year is about getting there.

Biggest weekend of the year for us! As others have said, it's a brilliant atmosphere, everyone is there to have great time and watch some awesome racing. The Bee-Sting cider can get the better of some on Saturday night though....
We'll be there helping out team USA. Doug is riding my 1980 CR250 in the over 50's again and John is out on one of our CR480 twin shocks, also in the over 50's! (That's gonna be one hell of a battle!) Come and say hello!

When you say TCR racing do you mean Mr. Latino Heat commonly known as Troy Cardiel? the #110 is the bike we built for him
