People keep mentioning Canard and I don't see how he can be ready let alone be selected. Stewart isn't going to get put on the team either. I like the underdog all Yamaha team idea. It harkens back to when we sent the Honda "B" team that kicked everybody's butt!

considering France team possibilities: Musquin, Pourcel, Febre and Paulin; USA has to go balls out, otherwise will be very difficult tp win
7/6/2015 12:07pm
Germany with Roczen ,Nagl and Ulrich
Belgium with van Horebeek,Desalle ,Strijbos,Lieber

so looks like USA,France ,Germany and Belgium for overall win like recent years

i feel like the last few years of not winning the DesNations has been due to a losing structure of forming and selecting the team and personnel.

time to change something up.

and I'm not trying to slight Decoster, Dungey, Tomac, Martin, etc for any of the past losses.

my thought, change up the team manager (Decoster in this case), grab a few guys that will be hungry to go over and race (Barcia, Anderson, Martin, Osbourne, etc.) and go with the intent to win moto's and an overall. the "riding consistent for the team" theory has not been working. change it up ffs.

my .02
I agree but I wouldn't change the team manager but the way the riders are selected. Just pick the best, no matter what the 2015 ama nationals championship points are:

- Stewart (24-0, multi time champion, healthy, very motivated, ...)
- Villopoto (multi-time champion, hopefully healthy, very fast, could be motivated to have a nice farewell ride)
- Webb / Martin (fast, very fast, ...)

Who can blame him (if true)? He goes over and riders well and we win and you just hear "Well, America has more people to pick from, they're supposed to win, blah, blah, blah." When we lose its "Dungey sucks man. Blake stunk the place up. Never send them again." Until next year rolls around and then people act like they are owed these riders going year after year. You win? Neat, you were supposed to. You lose? You let your country down and you suck.

This is going to be a tough year, our A riders are not going to be able to ride, add in that the USA's invincible armor has faded in recent years, team has to be...
MX1 - Stew, Racing outdoors or not, he is an unbelievable talent, if anyone can come off the couch Stew is the one.
MX2 - Martin, I was really impressed with Jeremy last year at this race, if he wouldn't have broken his foot...
MX3 - Barcia, an obvious selection at the moment, his 3rd year, he will give you absolute 100.

I truly believe if US wants to win, we have to send James, I really don't think its possible any other way.

Edit: This is assuming Trey will not be ready in time, if he is, I like him in the MX1 spot also.

Germany will most probably pick Jacobi for the MX2 spot (possibly Hsu) - Ullrich has been struggling this year ever since his trainer and mentor died earlier this year. but still a good team.

By the way Russia (Tonkoy Bobby Brylyakov or how ever you spell him) and the Netherlands (depending on Herlings + Coldenhoff, Bogers) could get on the podium

For the US team: Barcia has had 2 mxdn races which is some good experience, him MX1, Martin MX2 and Webb MX3 would be my team for now

That was over a year ago, if he doesnt race the last 2, ,unadilla, team decision, , or he would have to win the last 2 , he doesnt deserve to be on the team , imo.

The last time we had this thread, DC chimed in and said something to the effect that it's DeCoster/US's team policy to not send a rider that has ridden for another country. Not a rule of the MXDN per se. There was one exception but I'm drawing a blank on who it was.

Because its a US territory. It's not its own country per say. That's why Osborn rode them and other US natives have rode for them.

Depends on which side of the fence you are on I guess. For Puerto Rico it works out good ...Def broadens their pick. As a potntial us rider though, I would look to riding for Puerto Rico as shooting myself in the foot if you ever was in contention to ride for the US

Ok for the love of God this is getting annoying

Stewy won't be on the team for probably ten different reasons, drop it.

Canard, unless he comes back within next two to 3 races probably won't be on it either.

Can you guys try to start using some common sense? thanks

This is not fantasy mxdn on PlayStation.

Top Jimmy was born in Cali and now calls Shawnee Oklahoma home (neighbor to Trey Canard). I named Webb, Barcia and Albertson simply because if for whatever reasons we cant send our best....then let's send our most entertaining. Those 3 seem the most likely to remind the world that Mericans know how to have fun. And let's not forget...they also ride dirt bikes pretty good. It's moto...ANYTHING can happen. Peace.

If all were healthy it would be easy for US: Stewart, villopoto and Tomac on the 250

Now it would probably be Barcia, Jmart and bagget and that is just minor tier imho.

It would be understandable, Captain America may be tired at the end of this huge season and they need a break before restarting the SX testing.

Although it would be more risky for team usa, I vote for Ronnie Mac in MX1 !!!

No. Stewart hasn't raced in how long, let alone raced MX in how long? If it were perfect and all were healthy it'd be dungey, villopoto and Tomac. How can anyone even arguargue with that team?

Although Dungey does a great job of blocking out all of the knuckleheads, I think he is A-tired of taking both the blame and the shit, despite having won a few for team USA and stepping up for 6 straight years, and B-he is probably pretty fucking tired and needs a break. The guy has been relentless for almost a decade now. I say good for him. He has earned the right to decline this invitation.

I'm quite surprised by this thread. Most of you are going with Webb in MX2. I expected fans would go with Martin because he's the points leader in the 250 championship. But well, if I had to chose one of those two... I don't which even know, they're both really good...

Its a pretty easy choice for me. Martins ride last year on a broken foot earned him an automatic invite if he wants to go.

Good for him, take a break. Hope he comes out fired up for the US GP and then takes a well deserved break.
^This. The guy got bashed the last couple years and now he wants to skip the event. Gee, I wonder why. I'd skip it too if I was treated that way. Good for Dunge, take as much time as you need.
