It just makes the USA look silly in the eyes of the rest of the world when we have to keep hearing certain Americans repeat over and over and over and over and over that "the best riders in the world" are riding the AMA MX series. Just let it go Mr. Weigandt, please. Thanks to RV, even the American public has now clearly seen the level of the riders in the Grand Prix series. It just makes the Americans look desperate to hear such comments.

As much as I agree with you, I don't think it was a good idea to post that on here.

I don't think Weege have that opinion, that is probably just something he has to say.

But yeah, the best riders in the world thing is old. Everyone(at least i hope) understand that the GPs are just as good as the Nationals, if not even better. At least the GPs have been way, way i repeat WAY more interesting.

Lets hope someone can challenge RD.

I would also point out that we (Americans) don't control what our media says. Many of also agree with the op's statement, I personally believe the GP racers caught up with the US racers quite a few years ago.

They say it on both sides of the pond. It is just trying to build hype and excitement for the TV viewer.

Queue the Euro butt hurt, do you make a similar post when the GP commentators refer to their riders as the best riders in the world or disparage the US series or riders??

There is no "butt hurt" I agree with the op, it's old. Clearly there are very talented motocross racers in both series.

The best riders in the world do race the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. You didn't know that? Silly Poland.

Because when it comes down to it, bench racing is better then the racing 9 times out of 10... 20 seconds leads...

If you were secure enough in your own series it wouldn't bother you. You would just laugh and realize it's the commentator hyping up the program.

You realize this is just entertainment right?

Besides... they are the best riders in the world :-)

....and another thing... we have to listen to you guys refer to the GP champs as "World Champions". When they are most definitely not.

Malin must get a free pass for the shit he says...Why you GP guys take stuff so personally is beyond me...

Typical Euro whining. I swear these guys could mail $10000 checks out to everyone on vital and someone would still be bitching about it's not enough blah blah blah. I think he has been doing a great job and has a good command of word choice under pressure.

While i'm not stating either series is better I must ask, witch series has current riders who have won championships in BOTH series?

Malin never makes blanket statements like that that's why.

I'm a huge fan of both series's but I think he's talking about the "riders" that race motocross AND Supercross. Given that, they are the best. RV had the guts to jump into their backyard. Send the GP guys to Anaheim and then we'll talk. Just bring plenty of meat wagons. Beyond that, get the sand outa yer 'gina.

I honestly think most of you guys misinterpret him most of the time, but not going to try and convince you otherwise Smile

I guess this guy didn't watch the Thailand GP where RV dominated the euros. Kinda hard for RV to defend himself when he's injured. Tell your boys to come to America next season and we'll see if they can hang with the best racers in the world.
6/6/2015 11:32am
Is the GP series still even going on ? Hmmm. I had no Idea. When it's over someone please post who won.

You're taking this way too seriously. It's just a phrase he uses for tv...

Only a handful of Core Euro fans watch the AMA MX series,
99% of the European MX Fans don't even know there is an ama outdoor nationals streamed somewhere on an obscure website
