"MX Sports f..cked me out of a deal"
"I can make over a half million on a good camera deal but they won't let it happen"
360fly lists him as a rider and Reed has instagrammed about a new sponsor.
What's stopping him from posting up some cool videos from the new camera on nuetral turf and why haven't we seen any video of him while using the camera?
Nobody, at least on here has said when the GoPro contracts expire. If it isn't very soon you can bet your Team 22 hoodie that GoPro will be offering a 360 degree version soon.
360fly has got a lot of buzz going from Reed on this, but if Reed hasn't been paid yet and he can't get the contract consumated with them to get paid it's pretty easy to see who the big winner in this really is.
The camera and technology appears pretty sweet, GoPro is a big hitter, the next contracts will be way more lucrative.
Hopefully Reed will get his coin but I don't forsee GoPro rolling over on the terms of their existing contract.
Good riddance, his new deal is be a whiny bitch about something when he can't let his results do the talking, I won't miss him, especially outdoors where he is essentially a non factor. Lots of good racing in his part of the pack whether he is there or not.

The bulk of literature in competition theory will say that a monopoly will make more profits than the sum of profits of the oligopoly (any number of firms >1). If you are limited in what you can charge for the rights to be in by the profits made by the company (because what company would pay for rights if they wouldn't make positive profits), then you will be able to charge more if you restrict to a monopoly.
Thanks
Do you expect DC to break a business contract with a primary sponsor, one that brings video feeds to all the fans and television broadcast; that we all enjoy, so Chad can cash in $500k on a personal camera deal?
I don't get why this is an argument or discussion.
If Chad was talking to DC about NEXT season and getting completely shut-down for his own camera deal, then I could see a point. But we're 3 rounds into the season....
How the hell did Chad's legal team and 360Fly's legal completely miss the boat here? With $500k on the line, you would think someone would pick up a phone or spend 30 seconds composing an e-mail.

There is nothing wrong with allowing first come first serve for sponsors so they get top placement and exposure. However, not allowing other brands to also participate in the Pro racing is simply poor business. Also it could be against the law. Much like Microsoft ended up in trouble with the Government, deals like these with the AMA could be considered hostile to those not allowed to participate.
Imagine Nascar did not allow all the different car manufactures to participate? They would loose a bunch of fans. If NBA only allowed Nike shoes? Motocross is to small to limit the businesses who want to participate!
On live TV they run GoPro lap with..., GoPro starts etc. After the race they have GoPro race recaps. That`s what a deal is about. It`s media that GoPro created. They made a deal with NBC. It`s not a riders equipment that is not allowed.
Whe should Reed not make a point about this publically, why tip toe around it keep it quiet and let Go-Pro stroll in and extend their contract when it is up with no-one making a sound.
I bet there is a lot more publicity around the next time any company tries to claim exclusive rights in the sport that will force riders to not have the chance to bring on a personal conflicing sponsor.
If there is no noise, shit stays the same, make some noise and maybe things change, maybe they don't, but at least it gets put out in the open and people can debate it!
LOL were all the Monster promotional vechiles at the time Toyota's?
That could have been Funny Sorry Monster though you are the naming rights sponsor of the series you can't bring in your Ford (Inster what ever brand) pick up due to our contract with Toyota.
Nascar allows only goodyear tires... NBA fined Michael Jordan $5000 a game for wearing air jordans...
Pit Row
I'm pretty sure most of us fans knew the deal since when it began, there is no excuse for Reed not knowing, it's just the topic he chooses to moan about this week. Yeah it sucks if they won't sponsor him based entirely on not being able to record race footage, but Sony has no problem...
My question is can anyone rock up with a GoPro and run it or is it only who GoPro / NBC choose that week? (I'm guessing the latter)
If not, 360 fly will come out as the big winner here at this point and we will have to wait and see how it goes when the existing contracts expire.
I still don't know why we haven't seen videos of Reed riding showing this new technology, seems to me it would only enhance the buzz.
