Love Marvin, but I believe the rule is once you've raced for one country, you can't race for another, though that wasn't always the case: Can anyone here name the Team USA rider who rode for two different countries in the Motocross des Nations?

Trampas Chad Parker?

Jacky Martens raced for Luxemburg and then Belgium... And I think maybe even Luxemburg again?

Robgvx and uk125250 got it: Billy Liles raced for Luxembourg in 1989 (and finished second to Jeff Stanton in a moto) and then got the call to race for Team USA in 1992, when the "B" team won in Australia.

Parker did ride for Italy in 1989 and also finished second behind Stanton in a moto, but he was the top 500cc rider. But Trampas never rode for Team USA.

DC, was there a recent rule change? The latest case was Dean Wilson racing for Canada in 2009 and Great Britain in 2010/2011/2014.

Wow, I must be mistaken, maybe it's just a Team USA policy that I am thinking of!! Sorry, missed shift as far as Wilson goes, but I know Liles is the only Team USA guy to have ridden for someone else. I will check with Kevin Crowther of the AMA.

I've never looked at the rules surrounding the MXdN, so I'd be curious to know what the limit and rules are with Visas, Nationality, etc.

I belive I heard what DC has said. If memory serves me, Wilson was the last rider that would be able to do so.

If Musquin became an American via citizenship I have no problem with him representing the country. Everyone in America is from elsewhere, unless you want Native Americans being the only ones that qualify.

Okay guys, i think the US has the same amount of (very talented and fast) pro riders as we have in Europe (the whole continent!!!). Still some of you think you need a fast rider from another country)???
Here's my opinion about that way of thinking.... it's patheticSilly Whistling Laughing

That ' s the Point. You legally buy a citizen that is 100% a foreign one and you let him representing your own culture.?

While I do think it is great that most Americans seem to agree that anyone can become an American (citizenship, language, cultural adjustment etc.), wouldn't a win for team USA feel a bit hollow if the riders weren't "made in the USA"? And I seriously doubt Musquin would want to ride for any other nation than France even if he was allowed to, but that's just me.

True but he never raced for anyone else right? And he got american citizenship. Marvin raced for france and i think he is proud of his origin to Smile he is a good rider but no, why would america even need him to race for usa. Interesting theory but i strongly disagree. USA dont need any outsider to be a contender for the win. The trophy case speaks for itself USA nr1 in the history, some bad years atm but that can change within years.. It will be very interesting to see the three choosen riders.

I hope for Cianciarulo 250F mx2 , Dungey mx1, Villopoto mx3 open.

I looking for some good talc powder for my balls when riding, any brand preference? Need to keep them dry and avoid irritation.

Musquin results MXdN

2009 5-5

2010 39-40

2011 8-11

2012 19-11

I can understand them choosing a GP rider but thought it would've been Tixier,Martin deserves another shot imo,he knows what to expect and was running well last year

I thought it was some argue with the manager? If marvin wins the outdoor title he deserves it for sure.

but it's a different team manager this year right?

personally I don't blame the guy (Olivier Robert?) for stepping down last year, after all the shit he got for not picking Tixier/Pourcel/Musquin and then going on to win with Ferrandis (I personally would have gone with Febvre at the time), i thought it was a classy way of giving the "V" to all the people who doubted him
