The FIM is not directly in charge of any National series, that is the purpose of having affiliate members from each country, which the AMA is the affiliate member for the US. 111 countries have an affiliate member of the FIM and one of the benifits of being the affiliate is you are the ONLY sanctioning body whos series is recognized by all the other FIM members.. The FIM does not directly control rules and things like sound levels, but if the FIM bans a rider like James who participates in a country's national series who is an affiliate member (the AMA) then that rider can not participate. In addition, the FIM and almost all other sports global organizations like the FIA for auto racing, UCI is the global organization for cycling, ITF is the one for Tennis, IAAF is for track and field, FIFA is for soccer, etc, almost all sports have a global governing body like the FIM. All of those organizations joined with WADA to create a global system to handle performance enhancing drug use. The entire reason WADA exists is so they will not say "oh, its James Stewart, we need to cut him some slack" the entire reason WADA (and by extension USADA) exists is to hold everyone to the same standard, no matter how big or small a deal they are in their individual sport.

FIM is new to this, but most other sports have been part of this system for decades, and if you are a fan of those other sports, you know that what is happening to JS7 is NOT unusual or unprecedented. In fact, he is being punished exactly like any other athlete would, and has, been punished hundreds of times in the past. He just happens to be the first one for our sport, but this is old news for most sports.

I concur.

Many in the VitalMX world have a hard time seeing any difference.

If I were JBS, I would make sure I took an Adderall on the start line at all of the races next year just as the camera went by.

Actually, I believe he can appeal to Swiss Supreme court, but I don`t see a point of doing that anymore, except for clearing his name.

. . . and then he can go to the Global court of appeals followed by a plea to the Supreme Court of the Universe followed by an appeal to God. This fight ain't over, bros.

Ok. I guess the more relevant question is then is where CAN he race? There has to be a series or races somewhere that does not require an AMA licence.
Or maybe he will just sit out and take his suspension like a man.

No way. We need at least a dozen more threads rehashing this before we can move on.

What would be the benefit?

Whoever "they" are that anyone thinks "could", ask yourself, what possible benefit may be derived, decided to be beneficial, despite the risk of massive litigation...

This is not WADA or CAS or FIM's first go around with this, nor is James the biggest athlete to have been pinged, and WADA's reach is global, CAS say final and everyone who you may think could, would not possibly risk their respective empires so James can race a few motos over the next 4 months.
Are you saying he couldn't even ride an impromptu "beer can scrambles" at some local track with a winner take all pot-o-cash.?

My understanding is once you're banned, it's from any event which has a tie to any governing body that is a signatory. So no AMA, no MA(Australia), no CMA(Canada, though I think the nationals are the "other" one?), no GPs obviously... But further to that he can't go ride a bicycle race at a club if it's attached to the national bicycle league people and they're signed to UCI or whoever they are... It's a sports ban. If James was fast enough to run in the for the USA right now, he couldn't. Half the reason I don't get why people thought it was gonna disappear, it's some serious people's rules that were broke.

Sorry but this has been done to death, and the whole point of a World governing body is that it is just that... the world .

Its why its a world Championship, with a level playing field .... same rules apply everywhere, that way you can compare apples with apples all over.

The only people who have the authority to let him ride are the people that are stopping him.

Can we start suspending Vital MX members who continue to flog this dead horse? This is almost as bad as the one loon who posts about chest protectors frequently.
