He now is in doubt as a starter for the Spanish GP after crashing on his dirtbike. They operated on his baby finger to repair a bad break.

Life just got a whole lot easier for Rossi.

Damn I had heard about the broken finger / surgery, had no idea it was from riding a in the dirt? I bet that did not go well with the "higher ups" Blink

At the moment they saying he will not start but you are correct. Broken finger and all he will still earn vital points...he already is in a bad hole...30 points or so behind and really cannot afford to DNS...

I really hope Rossi pulls through for this championship..the dude is a legend and number 10 will see him off to a beautiful retirement.....but thats not in his plans. He said he will quit when he turns 40...

Keep on rolling Vali...Motogp will not be the same without you.

Now only if Stoner will come back..

they probably modify his bike so he can race , happend before with hand injuries ..... if he doesnt race , looks like Rossi would get a real shot at his 10-th worldtitle after all....

Bummer for Marquez! I love watching MotoGP and am a huge Rossi and Marquez fan. I think Valentino might have been able to give Marquez a run for the title this year regardless but that is how it goes sometimes in racing. This will probably make Rossi double down in effort and try to gap the field points wise. I hope Rossi gets it done!

Most of the of these guys ride dirt and do some flattracking as its good practice. The teams are totally aware of their riders programs and what they do in the little off time that they have. So no trouble for Marques other than Rossi.

He was already in a hole after last week and Valé looks unreal this year, old dude is ripping!

WTF is up with Lorenzo? Crazy how the same bike is such a world apart!

I strongly believe the title is Marcs to win if he can pick up a couple wins again but I'm a died in the wool Rossi fanboi.

That said, everyone is ignoring the fact that Dovioso is only 6 pts behind Rossi in 2nd place. Ducati will lose the rest of their concessions soon, but that bike has turned good.

Dovi is a threat but I can see him throwing it away somewhere down the road. And Lorenza???? He appears to be struggling with something. Going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

Dirt tracking or flat tracking is right term.. not related to motocross or enduro.
They slide around same oval.

Many road racers came up via dirt track. In fact the old AMA grand championship was a schedule of road racing, flat track, and TT.

King Kenny Roberts Yamaha TZ 750 2 Stroke Roadracing Motor in his flat track Bike used to win the Indy Mile.

150 HP, it was banned from racing there after, also Kenny said after "they don't pay me enough to ride that thing"

Wish I could of been there to hear that thing against all those Harleys

^^ Rossi turned down an offer to do a parade lap on KR's TZ. A friend of mine has the TZ750 road racer in his collection. The headers of the expansion chambers on that thing are so big they scare me. Never heard it run, hopefully someday he takes it out of storage and gets it running.

A guy that races up here has one, it sounds beautiful, like a Banshee on steroids (which it is).

That bike was a one hit wonder. It inched out the Indy win in '75, but was not immediately banned. Roberts tried it at the Syracuse mile, it went backwards. Put it through the fence at San Jose, I believe. For '76 , AMA said twins only, no more multi- cylindered engines.

Kyle Partridge broke his pinkie finger in two places at East Rutherford. Doc Bodnar straightened it out ( from sticking straight out sideways ), taped the outer two fingers together, and Kyle qualified for the main event.

Wow I haven't been paying to the Moto GPs. I figured MM would just run away with it again but sounds like it's wide open.

Marquez pinky attached to a ti plate for now. He'll race.

Marquez is a nice guy, saw a video of him signing things in ARG.

Lady handed him a Rossi helmet to sign... She said " I not just a fan of Rossi, I'm a fan of yours too."

Marquez while signing the helmet said " I'm a fan of Rossi's too." class act...
