80's and 90's seattle was very much gnarlier than that. very very much.

The first time I walked Larry Ward's SX practice track back in the early 90's I knew I didn't want anything to do with it.

Let's just say the risk/reward ratio didn't fit my portfolio specs.

Then when I was sitting around BSing with him and Mike Craig after a practice session at a local track, I asked him about how he handled several of the sections. His answers 100% confirmed that I made the right decision to stay away from it.

The fact that I'm still alive is just further affirmation.

I've hit a lot of arenacross whoops which are pretty gnarly but they don't get so rutted up so it's not as gnarly as these. I hope I never meet up with a whoop section like this one lol.

I'd go right in between those two ruts on the left, piece of cake. Nice.

I like working for a living outside of a dirtbike.

That picture is scary. Just imagine how much moe gnarly it is actually going through it.

I usually hit ones like that in third, then click fourth as soon as I clear the first hump. Wide open, baby!
What screws up my drive, is the dad gummed alarm clock telling me it's time to get up for work. Laughing

I would die !!!
Here I am doing some baby ones that had a couple of square edge deep ones toward the end and I use the word deep lightly compared to stadium whoops.

So, down in FL, around that same time, we have this legendary (sarcasm) place called "Croom". there is a road that leads back into the place that is about a mile straight before it hooks left. along that mile straight, all the way down, are whoops. (used to be) because its Florida, the state is one big sand whoop. Damon Bradshaw unloads his bike there one day, in between Daytona and Tampa most likely.

Dude blitzes almost halfway down that road, on the whoops. Stops. Turns around and blitzes back. Rides straight into the pull-behind trailer, and leaves. Nearly a half mile long "whoops section", 4th gear tapped, kissing the tops. That guy's balls drag behind him, sparking, while he walks.

I just road there for the first time last month, I love whoops but in moderation. I did not like them after 3 days and wished my buddies wanted to go to an mx track instead...

Great Bradshaw story!

Watched the Beast from the East at his last amateur race before he turned pro (I believe Milville was his first national?).

There were some huge rolling sand whoops after the first turn .

He would wheelie them... sitting down... with his left hand off the bars.

He was 15.

Must have seen some really good sammiches in the pits to want to make that right turn right in the middle of them!

Laughing

Don't know what they have strung up between the poles but might have acted like an egg-slicer on you if you'd made it to it!

Shocked
