Have not seen a video of it yet. Seen a few doubles and singles though. Oh and doubling through the whoops.

There is a reason that the sport of WMX exists.

As with anything else it starts out as wanting to be different. Then it turns into the cool thing to do. Seems to me being different is not maiming your body but that's just me. I personally can not stand tattoos but wtf do I know. The generation of today is going to look awfully silly at 60 plus years of age! Not to mention the possible long term affects of covering your bodies largest organ (skin for those of you who tried the pro mx route) in ink. Tattoos have been around for a long time but just recently has it become the norm to be completely sleeved up, etc. sheople i tell you. But I digress...
Almost 50 and not only do mine still look great, I have an awesome job, but still looking to get more.

I really don't get all the "sexist" or "you're mad because she could beat you" posts because its someone's opinion that she won't make the night show or main event. My opinion, no she wont even make the night show. Its my opinion. I'm far from sexist. I have 2 daughters and my future wife is one of the fastest women to ever race motocross. She competed and was competitve in the boys classes from 50's all the way to Schoolboy. She is still the only female to qualify in every youth class at LL's.
And no, Vicki couldn't beat me in mx or sx.

I base my opinion on my experience and my knowledge of this sport. Since it came up that she was going to try to qualify, I posed the question to my fiance if she thought Vicki would qualify and she has the same opinion I do. I then asked her why she never tried and her answer was simple. She said she knew better, she was a girl and didn't have the strength or speed to qualify. Does that make her sexist?

If Vicki does make the night show, I'll be the first that will be impressed and the first to admit I was wrong.

As far as I'm concerned, whether she makes the night show, or not, is secondary. This is a pretty big moment for the sport, not unlike Michelle Wie trying to qualify for a PGA event. We should appreciate it for what it is.

Why? Just because she's a girl? If you wanna run with the big boys you will be judged like them, she looks like an amateur out there period.

She earned the right to try, if she makes it or not is yet to be determined and yes it's kind of a big deal and something worth paying attention too.

Yes, because she's the first woman to attempt to qualify for a SX. No, she won't make the night show based on what I've seen, but if the significance of this moment is lost on you, then I don't know what else to say.

She's actually not the first woman, this has been discussed before. And I'm not saying she earned the right to try, she did you can't deny that. But what I am saying is from what we've seen, she's not gonna throw down a performance worth getting excited about.

Early 80's.....Doreen Payne. Not sure if i spelled that correctly. She broke her leg in qualifying if I remember correctly. I always thought Mercedez Gonzales would of tried it....because she had some really good skill and a lot of speed. Probably my favorite women's MX'er of all time.

Wasn't someone saying that she just qualified for a couple arenacross races to gain eligibility, and then when it came time to race she wouldn't/didn't?

This is true. She's obviously investing a lot more into her racing career than me or most of us.

No, she qualified for the night show, but never made it into the main events.

To be fair you won't be seeing her "race" since she won't qualify & little girls all over the world won't even know she's there unless they follow MX forums & the TV is not going to speak about her if she doesn't qualify.

100%. They'll probably run that segment about her again too.

I think if she's got the whoops dialed she'll make the heats. there are so many 30-50 place guys who STRUGGLE in the whoops.

agreed, I think they will have a segment on her regardless, it is news..

I don't think she will make the night show, having said that, you have to appreciate the courage it takes for her to even attempt this..

And NO ONE would pay to watch it. Maybe a support class at an amateur race like the WMX is becoming.

2014 WMX Final Standings
1. Marissa Markelon (270)
2. Kylie Fasnacht (259)
3. Mackenzie Tricker (258)
4. Shelby Rolen (186)
5. Amber Felicio (166)
6. Amanda Brown (160)
7. Amanda Sokalski (118)
8. Gladys Limbaugh (110)
9. Christel Allen (78)

So why is she not even trying to race the WMX Races, or did she not finish in the top 9?
