Logistic nightmare.

Didn't all the team trucks get stuck in the mud and couldn't get out after a GP once or was that Foxhills?

probably foxhills- 98 des nations? that was VERY VERY muddy that year!!! we got stuck in the spectator paddock and had to be towed out by the tractor (after waiting for a few hours)
may have happened at hawkstone at some point over the years, not sure- the roads down to the track are very narrow (to hawkstone) , they usually use that roll out flooring stuff for the international to stop people getting stuck

shame to not have a gp there though- great track. Real test of man and machine.

It would be a real pain in the arse to get all the big trucks that the GP teams have nowadays into Hawkstone. Like 2 stroke said all the roads to get there are really narrow, and there's not a lot they can do with it unfortunately. I think Matterley is about as good as it gets over here now as far as a modern GP venue is concerned. It's certainly not the best track though. There are a few tracks that would be awesome for a GP, but just don't have the infrastructure

come up with "the AMA is by far the best series" and then complain.... really you're special

GB is a pretty small country and Cairoli is a pretty old dude already. I feel like he will go downwards from some point on, maybe that point has already been in the past offseason.

First of all, have you seen the size of GBR compared to the USA? We don't go into the nations every year expecting to win easily like you do, we've done just fine the last few years. We'd have kept you off the podium last year if it wasn't for an enormous amount of bad luck.

Second point, RV hasn't beaten Cairoli everytime they've met. And they haven't raced each other for 8 years. Easily long enough for past results to not mean anything at all

Qatar is a freeway but the Thailand track is new for 2015, so we dont know what that will be like yet. Same with Argentina.

And supposedly this new circuit at Assen will be a sandtrack no? Im only expecting Lommel to give RV concern though, he should be OK at Valkenswaard I would think.

'its going to be a fantastic season, hopefully RV will enjoy it that much, that he decides to extend the contract for one more season!!!'

Same, we can only hope... Smile
im assuming the worst about Thailand and argentina- expecting similar man made rubbish to quatar (thinking rv will be super fast on this type of track)...

agree with you 100% about valkenswaard- yes, its In Holland and its fairly sandy, but its certainly not the bottomless sand of lierop or lommel. Its actually quite hard underneath. I think RV will go really well there too!

Not sure what to expect at assen? obviously it will be sandy- will it be similar to zolder? we all know what rc did to everts at zolder. With it being a man made new track its more likely to be supercrossy than your traditional lierop type circuit, so probably not be the worst track for RV either!!!

lierop should be on the calendar- its my favourite gp. Amazing to watch the top guys float round there. Lommel is deep sand but doesn't have the same character and atmosphere as lierop. Such a shame rv wont get to experience the Benelux gp there!!
Saw a pic of the Argentina track....I believe it will shock a lot of people and will possibly be the best track that the GP's have seen in years....

Looks amazing from that picture definitely. Not that you can tell an awful lot, but it looks like good dirt and a stunning setting

USA 320mil Belgium : 11.2mil GB : 63mil

Compare population numbers and look to the past and present titles in MX, top riders in series, and it will be clear what nation is the greatest MX nation in the world past and present Whistling Whistling Whistling

Id be interested to see participation numbers not just raw population . The vast majority of our nation doesn't care about motocross .

I like the way you've done it on overall so you can ignore Cairoli's race win Grinning

Are you really counting 2011 too? Cairoli broke his wrist before he even got the chance to race RV.

Like I said, the last time they were on the gate together was 2007, and that's way too long ago for it to mean anything.

And trust me when it comes to population, size has a massive effect

That Utah track is just terrible, hopefully Thailand won't be quite as bad as that. It will suit RV perfectly though by the looks of it

A clown? You will say anything to diminish American riders... will you disappear when RV dominates? I think you will.

Please tell me how I diminished any American riders? I said the track in Utah was terrible, which it was, and many of the people who rode it said so. I don't think RV will dominate, but if he does, I'll still be here, I've not said anything that no-one else has said

The guy just doesn't know when to quit. I hope RV wins for the simple fact we won't have to read this clown's BS any longer.

The statistics are in favor of RV.A race win is irrelevant, you need overalls to win a championship.

We will soon see. There can be no excuses, if RV goes to GP's and wins the world championship, it wll prove he is the best in the world. Cairoli is hardly getting old, he's not even 30 yet, he should be in the prime of his career really.

Grinning Keyboard trolls into every Euro/RV/GP thread and gets all uptight and butthurt at responses

Us "fuuuuuriners" as he calls us,who watch our series can stick together in support for "our" series when told the AMA is far superior, and we all seem united in thinking Qatar etc is a man made pile,Elsinore anyone?

RV imo isn't representing the AMA quite as much as some think really,he seemed pissed off with over there, didn't exactly pull out the stops to do the German MXdN and he's owned the rest of the AMA for a long time anyway,

Btw Cairoli caught and passed RV at the MXdN here

It's very hard to find actual numbers of riders in Belgium ( or another country for that matter ). What I found on the site of the Belgian Motorcycle association is the number of riders that contested in NATIONAL races. That means NO local races but only races that count for titles in each class. These are ALL riders contesting for the championship (amateur and pro , from Strijbos to Lieber to our mailman M.Van Daele or Ramon for instance). Not all riders contested in all rounds but it gives you an idea of volume....

Seniors 43 riders , 13 rounds
Masters open, 57 riders , 13 rounds
85 , 49 riders , 13 rounds
Promising , 59 riders , 13rounds
Juniors MX1 , 44 riders , 13rounds
Juniors MX2 , 60 riders , 13 rounds
Nat. MX1 , 58 riders , 13 rounds
Nat.MX2 , 29 riders , 13rounds
Nat. 125 , 20 riders , 13 rounds
SMX , 40 riders , 5 rounds
Challenger Trophee , 26 riders , 7 rounds
Inters MX2 ( Lieber , Genot , Van Doninck , ... also privateers) 22 riders , 4 rounds
Inters open ( Strijbos , De Dijcker , .... also privateers) 43 riders , 4 rounds
