you should be aware that those tanks are made by italians, not by frenchies, so don't say stupid things on us!
I've contacted them in italian long time ago and i never had a reply either...
Btw i don't care, the YZ is not the best 125 i ever ridden, i do prefer my KTM and Suzuki rather than The Vdlaar i had 2 years ago!

i emailed them for a cf tank but no reply as of yet.
i'm in england btw, just thought i'd put it out there,
Actually, Laar will sell the tank alone but you do have to modify the seat. The price is comparable by memory. There is a topic about this over on TT where someone e mailed them and they did respond back (believe it or not). Nonetheless, I am a sucker for aesthetics but it just seems too much for me, especially when you factor in the no performance enhancement factor.

heres the reply marco sent me.

Hello Mr .

The kit includes TANK NEW LOOK :

• Tank (carbon or painted)

• billet aluminum cap with vent

• Lightweight aluminum brackets for conveyors

• clips and screws for mounting

• Manual leaflet for a quick and correct installation .

The tank new look is designed to renew the line of yamaha yz 125/250 2t

Its shape allows you to mount the conveyor of the latest yamaha yzf250 4t giving a whole new look to your bike.

In addition, being the lowest ( original) in the upper part enables the top saddle to lie facilitating the movement of the rider on it with an easier transfer of the loads ( corner entry , departure )

Shock resistant and with a capacity of 6.5 liters can be purchased in 2 versions:

• Composite material covered in real carbon

• Composite paintable

The prices are as follows

Carbon € 520.00 ( Save 15 %) = € 450.00

Paintable € 400.00 ( 15% discount ) = € 350.00

Shipping charges are not included in the price.

For info or to order you can contact 335/1905863 or write to yamaha.newlook @ gmail.com

Does this tank hold up? Any problems? I ordered the regular plastic tank from him and of course I went to install its cracked at the bottom edge all the way across. Feels really thin. I'm gonna send him pic and see what he will do about it but thought I might upgrade to the carbon if possible.

Hi
I did'nt use my one yet (still in a box in the garage) but that does'nt sound good at all!
I did buy a carbon ignition cover from him which is thin (especially on the mating/sealing surface) though.gonna have a closer look at the tank tomorrow and report back.

Ok so it looks to me like the tank is made up of some kind of resin? with a layer/layer's of real carbon fibre on the outside.i shone a light on the inside and took a pic but you can't really see that much.the finish/clearcoat is'nt the best quality on my one either, with some bubbling/marks in the resin/clearcoat/laquer.tank does'nt feel thin or flimsy but it does'nt feel very lightweight (for a carbon piece) either.i got my one from them because nobody else was making/selling this kind of stuff for the yz.it's eventually going on a showbike so durability won't be an issue for me but you definately need to speak to marco about this as what happened to you is not right.his english is'nt very good either and sometimes he does'nt answer email's for weeks!
i hope you get this resolved properly, and If i can help at all, just ask.

Ok,glad he done the right thing! hope everything work's out this time.due to fund's (or lack of) you will be using your's before i use my one so very interested to see how it all goes.i could have done a mock up with mine but i did'nt want to drill all the holes required in case it line's up slightly different on my next bike.
