I think Tomac has always had maybe a hair more pure outright speed. But like some others mentioned Tomac has a tendency to get bad starts. Had Tomac started 5th-6th I don't think he would have caught a Kroc that had gotten the holeshot. I, like most of you west of the atlantic am pulling for Tomac (since Poto left) but Kenny will be there at the end and I see the large majority of the races wins going to these two guys. They are clearly the fastest!!

I just think it is funny that just about everyone east of the Atlantic ocean Believes Roczen is the fastest and those of us west of the Atlantic side with Tomac.

I agree with this statement. It's way to early to be fighting for wins you don't have to have at this moment. I'm a Tomac fan but I don't like all the chest thumping from either side. Just let the guys race and may the best man win. I truly hope that's Tomac but I wont be talking shit along the way.

If Tomac is just close at the start, that will be enough.

He's better.

Nope.....someone else said Tomac has always had Ken Roczen's (KR) number and you see it manifest itself here again. It looked like KR was emboldened from his 450 outdoor title and last week's win so I think he thought the tables are even...so he fought back with more vigor than in previous encounters with ET, but ET appears to know otherwise and it is as it was...ET can beat KR and KR knows it (JMO).

in this field the days of people coming from outside the top 10 are gonna be hard with the field we have now. That ride James had last year where he came from like 13th to win are a thing of the past I think.

I agree that Tomac's starts have always been a problem for him. But I do not agree on the crashes. Last year he crashed and hurt himself a few times. And I assume that's what got him the "crasher" reputation. But if you watched him during 2013 250 MX, he didn't crash. He crashed out of one main event in 2013 250 SX which you could argue cost him the championship. And he didn't really have any issues during his 2012 250 SX championship campaign. So I am assuming the whole crashing thing is purely based off of recent memory, i.e. 2014 SX/MX practice and last weeks main.

I do think it gets in Kroc's head more than it does Eli but if you guys think this is gonna be easy for Eli I think you're wrong. My prediction is Eli will win like 7 and Kroc will win 5-6. The rest will sprinkle around the other guys and Dungey could very well be there to take the title in the end. That's just my opinion.

It was a good battle between them two. Roczen clearly is comfortable on the RMZ and was riding very smooth. I thought he had the win and an edge over Tomac. We all know that Tomac's unique trait is that he gets stronger as the race goes on. Once he started to pull a little gap on Roczen, I think Roczen was a little (and I mean a little) demoralized which allowed Tomac to pull a bigger gap.

Sounds plausible. Could be that Roczen gets the 7 wins and Tomac gets 6 and the remainder sprinkled among other riders. By the 4th or 5th race, you have a pretty good sense how the season going to play out and who the contenders for the championship barring that no one gets hurt. This is why I usually get bored of watching SX after 5 races. I never get bored of watching the outdoor MX races... more dynamic.

Agreed 100%. Someone just compared him to Stewart. When has Tomac yardsaled like Bubba? He got couple injures getting used to the 450, big deal. His SX was all chopped up last yr. I don't believe we can even say he's a bad starter yet. On a 250'when he was huge on it, yeah. Let's get a full season sample if the 450 gets him starts.

A lot of Eli's speed comes from pure athleticism. He can just bash through stuff harder than anyone else...and he just keeps coming. He is the best athlete in MX. A number of other riders are probably better technical riders, but Eli can just beat them down.

That pass over Roczen was just incredible... that was JS7 like... the balance was insane...

At the end of the Motocross title last year I could see Tomac really getting it together, he will be a champion.

Tomac was not that good at the end of motocross season last year. It was Canard who was on fire.

It is funny with this KR vs ET thing. It seems to me that when Eli are fighting KR, he always seems to give it a little more, than if he is fighting with ex. Cannard, dungey or bagget. I saw the same with Barcia in 13/14 when he raced KR, he always looked like to give it a little extra. Its like if Cannard passes ET or Barcia, they accept it better, but if it is Kroc, it ligts a fire in them.. Just my own observation.

In response to the predictable anti-Euro/Roczen jibe when he gets beat,by the usual pro US/anti-Roczen glory nuthuggers,Tomac was faster,Roczen gave it up a couple of laps after being passed

We had one round where Tomac is the fucking man (As I expected he would be) so we just assume he is gonna be the fastest most consistent every round now?

Naahhhhh. Lets give it more than two races.

But Markit, you should never show your face here again you think a guy who posted these results ----

the last 12-13 races is a top 6-8 results rider? 100% Healed and with loads of seat time? Did you know JS and RV isn't racing

I for one am loving the possibility of several more years of battles between KRoc and Eli. Regardless of who wins, these are two bad asses on two wheels and we are all lucky to get to see their battles. I feel that they are so close that it just depends on the week, the track, who's feeling it on a particular weekend. This is so much fun and we have others that are going to be in the fights too. To top it off, they are both top notch guys. MX/Supercross need these two and the others to promote and advance this great sport and they are doing so admirably.

Maybe my comments aren't brutal as most would like, but share your opinions and realize we are the one's that are going to benefit from these battles!

I don't understand your illogical notion that nationalism has anything do with these racers. They don't care. Most people don't care. Ken was fast, Eli was fast, both will be fast for a long time and probably trading wins often. I'm an American who's been living in London for several years which has been a great way to experience both the racing and the fans. No need to stir the pot as you've done.

That's just comparing 1 lap....last I checked it's a 20 lap race, you might want to compare the other 19....Give credit where credit is due, last night Tomac was quite a bit faster than Ken...but it's only one race, on to next weekend...

And of course I want the American to win, which he did, dominating roczen. Wink

Guys this is not domination. Do you not remember RC, JS, RV and the like winning by over 30 seconds at times and could have been more if they hadn't backed it down. Now that was domination. 6 seconds is not!!

I'm a huge Tomac fan and it was great to see him win it last night. With that being said.....I am not taking anything away from Kenny. The dude will be rock solid all year.

I think they'll both have their good nights and bad nights. To much of a fan of BOTH guys. And as a fan.....it was really cool seeing them go at it. The roles could completely reverse next weekend. I'm all good about it too.
