After the incident with Osbourne it was pretty clear no one wanted to mess with him the rest of the night. And if someone does want to get physical with him he's used to it, and will be there to give it right back which I like.
Was interestîng when Hanny got passed... Pulled wide. Thought it could have been fireworks...

I'm tellin you right now that if Malcolm isn't hurt from the other night, those two are destined to meet up on the track UFC style...mark my words. They both ride the same and are about the same speed, they are bound to get together at some point.

Like Peelout , I've always liked to rub and race really close, not dirty or taking people out, unless they hit me first. But I've always liked to stick my front tire in , maybe rub his leg a little just to let him know I'm right there. In my opinion, Zachs thumb will ache a little bit every time he gets around Bowers in a race, and may give him a little more space because of it. Think about it, if your racing and you come up on a guy that you know will take you down no matter what if you fuck with him, subconsciously you're not gonna run it in really hard if you don't have to. I may not be popular on here saying this but if a guy hits me aggressively twice before he passes me on the track and I don't think it was needed.......he will most definitely be picking himself up off the the ground a few turns later. Sure you can say you're being a bigger man but you and everyone else knows who's bitch you were that day, including the rider that now knows that no matter what he does, you won't retaliate.

And If I for some reason pass someone really hard, I pick my inside leg up for while on all turns expecting payback. If you're going to dish it out, you should take it without whining....are we not mostly men here? What Bowers did was lay a little groundwork for the rest of the racers to see. Race me clean, its all good, race me dirty and I'll play that game with you too. They all know whats up, along with Friese, Barcia, Hansen, Pieck etc. Racers all know who the guys are that they can mess with and who they can't. They might never admit it but they WILL generally leave Bowers alone after this. The kid is paid to do a job and I'm guessing isn't going to mess around at all with anyone, and doesn't care two shits about others feelings.

And if you think these little men that race out there won't care who it is when they storm over to Bowers pits to confront him and pick trouble.....ask your self this......would you storm over to a known fighters pits with bad intentions looking to start shit, or would you huff and puff and threaten and warn and yell at anyone that would listen about how lucky Bowers is that your not a fighting person, all the while making sure that he can't hear you or see you because you know whats waiting if you decide to open the hornets nest up? Just thinking out loud, I could be wrong. Smile Bowers will be fine, he's a hell of a rider.

Why do so many have sand in their vagina over that pass? I didn't see anything wrong with it............ he barely touched him! I like some aggressive racing and dug how he was all fired up in the interview Bradshaw 1990's style. This is a brutal sport and emotions spill over sometimes..........

I should know better than getting sucked into a thread like this, but oh well.

I thought it was dirty when first shown on TV. When shown in slow motion, it looked aggressive, but not over the line. It would have been nice to have seen the prior passes to put it in context. At any rate, if the pass had been near the end of the main, I think there would be a lot less uproar. Making that pass in a heat was a bit immature IMO, but not dirty. It sucks that Osborne is hurt again, had hoped he would be up there for the series. As for the AMA official, the FIM took 7 months too long with JSV, and the AMA was too quick with Bowers. Seems like any move on the track should require watching some video and getting both sides of the story before action is taken. We don't know what was said, but looked like an overreaction from my couch.

Definitely more a fan of Bowers now than before.

Aggressively confronting a rider immediately after the race is unprofessional and often ineffective. If that behavior is characteristic for the official maybe it's time for him to find a new position.

Before SX, John used to also referee the AX series. I think he’s got a pretty good idea of what and where the line is, and how to handle it.

I’ve known him for a long time. I’d guess if he visited Tyler immediately after the race it was because he saw a behavior that he didn’t want to see repeated, and wanted to deliver the message ASAP.
Respect your opinion GuyB, but if Gallagher watches the video instead of running over to confront Bowers there wouldn't have been anything said. Osborne accelerates after the contact, not during, that's what caused his crash.

4 time (literally unbeatable) arena cross champion. I think bowers knows what it takes to get through a full season. (adressing some of the guys saying he won't make a full season). kinda funny hearing someone say this.

he's a title contender any way you look at it. One of the best races of the night was that heat race and half of vital is whining about it. get over it. good race, will be better as the series goes. Let them settle their grievances on the track..keep the refs out it until some guy starts cross jumping or something. corner stuffs and block passes is what made this sport.

Watching the whole event again now, ill probably watch another 2-3 times before round 2 Smile

The only reason Osbourne got close to bowers in that heat was due to Bowers getting hung up when Bisceglia crashed. Bowers getting caught up before for a little allowed osborne to get right behind Bowers.

As the broadcast comes back from showing the replay of Bisceglia crashing for the 1 millionth time, you can hear the crowd getting rowdy then you see Osbourne just moving ahead of Bowers.

Would have been good to have a split screen on the replay and seen the actual footage of the moments leading up to the Bowers pass to take back the lead.

Surely the footage is out there!

Haha all this talk about Bowers pass, yet nothing about Nelson's pass on Webb in the same race.

Nelson runs Webb all the way to the edge of the track, looks over at him and takes his front wheel out leaving Webb on the ground.

Nelson left Webb no room, at least Bowers left Osbourne a little (not much)

At first glance I thought it was a bit much but after seeing the replay that was a nothing bump and Zach just dumped the clutch at the wrong moment. I loved the interview as well, especially when asked what Gallagher had to say "well clearly he's not happy" LOL.

Not much locally anymore, A buddy was trying to get me out for an ice dive recently but I'll pass. Usually only dive now when we travel to a tropical land on vacation.

If this was a pass in the main I would agree that it was a good move, but I stand by my opinion that it was unnecessary for a heat race. Roczen has it right, this is what he said about his heat race with Short:

It looked like you were a little kind to him, though.
I could have totally stuffed him, but why? It’s just a heat race.

And of course he went on to win the main without the need to "assert his authority" in a heat.

RX interview with Zach:

Talk about that crash in the heat. You and Bowers were going back and forth a little bit.
I felt like the other two were pretty clean. The other one maybe I got in his boot buckles a little bit but his was pretty blatant. We talked it out on the podium and he knew it was across the line.
