Hes old , the field is stacked , but Shorty don't give a shit, he's doing his deal , really impressive ride. Everyone is calling Dung out for not passing sooner but Trey wasn't really dropping Shorty a whole hell of alot. Good start compared to last year !

Yea that was great!!! He's lucky him and Roczen are buddies though in that heat race or roczen coulda put a nice block pass in on him. Also no excuse for Dungey to take so long to pass him what was that 10 laps? Anyways great ride for Short.

Big thing i like about short is he is flying under the radar

He is as old if not older than Reed and you never here Shorts name in off season talk and NEVER hear Short bitching about just about everything like Reed does.

I talked to Short at Toronto SX 2013 and he is truly one of the nicest guys i have ever spoken with i hope he has great success this year

So proud of our Homeboy Shorty! I think in certain track layouts he can hang, and I'm all for those kinds of tracks. You don't have a long career by constantly tearing up your body. The older riders always start to get the love. Reed, Windham, Larocco etc. He may not be on that level but occasionally he can step up. Even with those air forks!

Thee is a place in this sport for old nice guys. Being over 30 doesn't mean that you have to act like a crotchety old man. Put Andrew in a pre race press conference and watch the whole room change it's attitude! Great ride Shorty!

I thought shorty had a fantastic ride, his heat race was the best holding off Kenny like he did, I was definitely cheering for him all night!!

Short gets the support he does because he is great for the sport, and is a terrific team leader. I can't give Andrew enough credit, really. He's still a hell of a lot faster than a bunch of the young bucks...he never ever bitches & moans about his bike, his team, or other riders in interviews or on social media. He's seems to be as great a Daddy to his kids & husband to his wife as he is a great racer too. Pretty cool.

Short was probably the biggest suprise for me. I mean you know he is gonna be fifth place or so but he was sticking with everyone in the main even he looked great. I really hope he keeps it up he will get on the box. If he could just find one more click in speed he would be money

Top 5 in that field! Awesome job! That bike really suites him! He was fast as I've ever seen him. He was a lil out of breath after that heat race! He was giving it everything not to let his friend by. Great job!

No matter where he ends up that ride last night was a great one. im sure he was riding tight also. Hes just as worthy as the rest.

Very impressive night for Shorty! In the pulpmx post race podcast he said his bike is so light that they can move weight around where they want it. The other KTMs are at the limit with spring fork and shock which could be pounds lighter with the air stuff.

If I were to pick a role model for a young man, it would be Shorty. He has had a fantastic career over a lot of years and has had competitive speed, lots of character, guts and determination and is a great rep for a sport that he loves.
