Bro, you could have helped a bro out while I was redoing my bedroom and bathroom.

To add to this topic, I also do tons of honey-do work at my house.

I rode my 450 yesterday(keeping it moto related)

Good off season thread.

Currently in my final year of university studying for a BSc in Geoscience (Geology). I'm hoping to graduate with a good degree classification then go and do a masters and then go into the oil or gas industry. As great as the student life is, I really can't wait to start earning money and get a bike and ride more often. I can count the number of times I've ridden moto this year on one hand Sad

That's one thing that attracted me to the company. They take their customer service serious as well. I've been to multiple CS workshops since I started 8 months ago.

I worked at a Honda/Suzuki dealership for two years while I was in college. After I graduated with my journalism degree, I sent my resume to MXA. Still waiting to hear back from them 19 years later, but the Army has provided me a decent career in the meantime (although the $4.25/hour at the bike shop was pretty lucrative.)
Maybe MXA will get back with me in time for my retirement next year...

Senior advisor, product development, Arctic Cat Inc.

I mainly test chassis, track, and suspension designs and their overall production viability. I live and work in Wyoming but I do spend around a month per year in Thief River Falls.

I also make money selling and leasing of suspension designs I create and patent. Mostly R/C car stuff. I raced R/C professionally for a couple years in the early 2000's and cut my engineering teeth as a product designer for Associated Electrics. I designed the V2 Factory Team shocks.
Good stuff. Wish I would have gotten into engineering. I go crazy with ideas on RC design sometimes. Couldn't imagine getting paid to do it. You probably know my buddy Brandon Rohde who was at Associated for a bit and now runs liverc? We used to moto together a bit but I think those days may have passed him by.

Currently 3rd year med school student. Moto is what got me into this after some major injuries back on my racing days. Been reading vitalmx for many years but not a fan of posting... Merry Christmas to all of you and blessings on 15'. Stay safe.

I got my business degree while working in bicycle shops mostly and then helped open a motorcycle shop that was geared towards road racing and track days in 2004. Learned a ton about the business in that time and was the store manager. I was lucky that the owner really trusted me and we really grew quickly. After about 4 years I was getting pretty burned out as I was doing a ton of travel for road racing and taking lots of customers/team members with me plus working 6 days a week when I wasn't gone on the weekends. I wasn't making much money either so I started looking for a new opportunity. Then my Parts Unlimited rep came in and said he was leaving to go work for HD so I jumped at the opportunity. I was hired at the end of 2007 and have been working for them ever since. I feel really lucky to have the job I do. My territory isn't giant so I'm home every night and I have become good friends with the guys at most of my shops so I look forward to heading out every morning. I also get to go to a lot of cool events and get special access, and for a guy that follows racing like I do it's pretty awesome.

30 years in telecomm sales and after starting a company in 76 with two partners grew it to 47 employees and 15 million in sales only to have my partner (3rd partner left three years into it) give it away to Warren Avis 12/84 when Avis bought the company for book value. Moved to CA in 86 moved to the other side of the fence when I was recruited to work for one of the manufacturers we had represented. After 25 years of corporate BS I decided at 51 to pursue my passion and have repped a US manufacturer of muffler packing material for over six years. 2.5 years ago I moved to Maui and after mornings in the office managing my accounts I spend the afternoon M-F with a Downs Syndrome teenager and occasionally sub on the weekends for an autistic 9 year old boy. On the 17th of January I take on my biggest challenge when I start spending 6 hours on Saturdays with a pretty much non verbal aggressive 12 year old autistic boy. In my third year of special needs work and even though it can be extremely stressful at times I cherish the relationships I have built with my "students" and their families.

Still welding says it all. One man show whom, quite often, designs, fabricates and welds. Customer base consists of companies like ReedRacing, Oakley, Honda Performance Development, A2Zfx (Red Bull Stratos), Think Technology, Military parts, etc. Mostly TIG bench work, but can MIG, Stick, and Silver Solder.

Right out of college, moved to Vegas and landed a job working for a dot com off road magazine (photo-journalist, front-end developer and kinda jack of all trades). Insane fun and great opportunities to travel to events and actually race myself (Baja SCORE events, WORCS, etc.).

Worked for Baja Designs in San Diego after that for a couple years, then did my own design / marketing consulting for quite a few moto companies. The bubble burst and then moved to Utah to start a motorcycle tour and rental company up here (wrong vacation demographic for summer-focused businesses). Didn't go well. Got into a dot com startup with a few guys, built it up and sold it (learned that business partners are a bad idea).

Now I have an epoxy flooring and cabinetry / organization business. I'm a neat-freak and OCD, so building spotless garages is quite rewarding.
