Your assessment of my views on drugs in sport are 0/1.

While I've never specifically had that thought while watching an event, my assumption is that everyone is clean, and I silently cheer whenever an athlete is found guilty of using performance enhancing drugs.

And if they wiped out the top 20 riders from A1 for using PED's, I wouldn't shed a single tear.

You see the thing is, the real argument is not about whether athletes should have the right to use PED's, it's that every athlete should have the right to compete equally WITHOUT using PED's. The vast majority of people arguing against drug testing in sport fail to see that.

Think about this - your child has the talent to be among the best in the world, and then at some point you (and him/her) realise that the only way to get to the next level is to start using PED's of some sort.

Is that the kind of sporting environment we really want?
Or your kid has ADHD or ADD and isnt allowed to race because he forgot to file his paperwork for his medication. Logic.

Your kid?

He's fuckin 28. He's an adult. A professional adult being paid millions every year, with a team, a personal staff and even a fucking nurse.

Suzuki don't turn up with a 520. Or a bike that weighs 90kgs.... Because that's the rules.

When is it reasonable to think that someone should accept responsibility for their own actions?

Glad he got punished but 1 year is to long in this sport. Maybe 4 races in each series but 1 full year is little much Imo. But then again rules are rules and according to other cases it could have been 2 years
Not much sense in 4 races of each, taking him out of each title is basically the same. I'd imagine it'll get cut to SX only anyways... maybe that was what James was referencing with his lower the bar remark on IG the other day...

Im quoting the last guy. Calm your albino gorilla ass down. I know hes not a kid. If you think the punishment fits the crime then thats sad. I really hope my state government is taking notes because id love to have my drivers license suspended for a year because i was going 30mph in a 25.

Who said he got a year? Did you read the thread and forget to read the posted link first? What if he gets a backdated suspension, it happens. It will be interesting to see what JS7 gets.

What We Don't Know:

At this point, we're still waiting to hear the length of the penalty.

For those of you saying he got a tue so he wasn't cheating have no clue. There is no test that proves you have it. you and your family get asked questions on behavior, mood, daily behavior etc. All stuff that you can easily get coached on especially after you get caught. That's why the almost all athletes that are Approved for adderall DO NOT need adderall they are cheating. This isn't wada's first rodeo they have seen and heard all the stories before and evidence shows they believe he was cheating. All the facts add up to he got caught and now he has to pay the penalty. It's no ones fault but his

If my kid forgot to renew his competition licence he can't race either. It's only paperwork, after all.

Respectfully, I believe if anyone needs the stuff it is Bubba. Watch videos of him in past races, so fast yet he has had those moments that are unexplainable. Like, didn't he see that guy!?!

I'm a Stewart fan and will miss seeing him out there but with that said it is rare that that one of the big boys gets whacked instead of the usual pass. Sends a serious message. I have no problem believing he needs the drug to focus/concentrate. Seen him throw it away for no real reason many times. If the drug wasn't so abused it wouldn't require a TUE. Hang in there Bud.

1. There was nothing new in the press release that we didn't already know yesterday.
2. There was no penalty handed down.
3. UDSA/FIM/FELD have not decided anything yet
4. Calm the fuck down people.

Well, I got to say, it was great watching you race James. Definitely one of the best riders to ever through a leg over a motocross bike. Thank god for old videos of your racing days. Enjoy what you do next.

*** James Stewart is a Cheater***

James Stewart does not have ADHD... he was diagnosed by a shady doctor (same people that shoot IVs into him at the Nationals probably) so he can be taking Adderall....

Adderall (methamphetamine hydrochloride) is speed...

The whole "I was prescribed" lie is used by Baseball and Football players all the time... and now Motocross racers.

Fitting end to a career that was derailed by many many many poor choices...

If Red Bull have any sense they will cut him loose.

Since this began and I've voiced my opinion, i've been called a racist, a hater, a Reed-fan-therefore-a-person-who-wants-James-to-cop-a-life-ban blah blah blah. All total bullshit.

As I said, I could give a fuck what they give him in terms of punishment as long as it reasonably sends the right message... I'm against drugs in sport. And against anything that harms the sport. Everything else is secondary to that.

It sucks it's James

It sucks he's your favourite rider.

It sucks he's black (and you think Wada, the AMA, and me are all racists)

It sucks he's nearing retirement

It sucks you think adderal doesn't do shit (For a guy who seems to have trouble concentrating–which is besides the point being a banned substance, that's it)

It sucks you think the TUE negates guilt (AFTER the fact)

But most of all it sucks he, his team, his Doctors, his Nurse didn't take responsibility for his actions in the first place...

Past that, I don't care what he gets, just that they do the right thing by the sport, which is why I've ever gotten into all these arguments about it... I'm passionate about MX and I just don't get how people think it should slide because of things that don't have a bearing on it–The ticket sale thing is hilarious. Crunch some numbers, take into account the rest of the field and even if there was a down trend, the defending champ is also not there–Oh and Wada don't give a fuck about ticket sales

I do think though, there's a very good chance they'll cut it in half, and be permitted to race the outdoors, maybe even a few of the last SX races...

How can you complain to the FIM when you don't yet know what the penalty is?

This is all such horseshit. I wish we had never started with all this drug-testing nonsense. Can we say that drug testing has actually improved racing? No. It is an enormous bureaucratic hassle? Yes. One of the greatest riders in the sport's history potentially forced into early retirement for taking a commonly prescribed medicine for a common ailment. So he didn't fill out every piece of paperwork he was supposed to. How many of us forget to file something at the office now and then? Jesus.

Too many fucking lawyers and nannys in this country trying to regulate the shit out of everything to justify their existence.

Yes, shame on the AMA and event promoters for wanting to insure the safety of the riders.
