Mitch doesn't need to call anyone.
I bet Mitch is so mad, nobody will be in the building for the next 3 days!
I can't help but think with how easy AC's shoulder was coming out before that he probably already had the Laterjet. Which makes me wonder just how bad it must hurt if I was to ever dislocate the shoulder I had Laterjet on? Wouldn't I be basically breaking bone & ripping screws out?
Pit Row
You think these guys would be saying Pourcel if they knew he was pointed out? Not everyone gets to know everything about MX like you, who makes a living knowing the sport.
And the "joke" about Mitch wasn't all that bad. Knowing the sarcastic intent behind it makes it funny. Most people I know in chairs (including my brother) are pretty damn light hearted... You gotta be in that situation, or else you wouldn't maintain a happy life.
My brother has CP, been in a chair for 22 years. I told him that joke and his ass off at that comment...
I asked him why it was so funny and he told me "I always crash and get messed up in my wheelchair, so it's funny when it happens to someone else!".
Kid has the best attitude on the planet, never been sorry for himself or about his situation, not once. We call him "wheels".
If the answer is NO, than I would say that the most common cause of an injury is the result of a previous injury.
If we strictly go by history and mentality of the both the riders and handlers I would say his shoulder was NOT ready to withstand the forces placed on it.
I dont know AC personally or have insight into his program but I do have what I feel is a substantial amount of experience in how MX/SX athletes approach post injury rehabilitation.
I can tell you with a high level of confidence if the shoulder he injured is the same one that he just had repaired for the second time he will not perform at the level he is expected to be at if he follows the same rehab program.
I know our sport is dangerous, and risky...but seems like somebody is going to have to die on the track before the top teams step back and rethink how important racing overseas is.
Just my 2-cents.
Look at Jimmy Button. Dude was rolling through whoops. Hasn't raced a dirt bike since...
If anything I would argue that you get hurt much less by spending more time on the bike. If you didn't practice and then went balls out at the professional pace on race day, I'd reckon you find yourself in the hospital pretty quickly.
