I'd think they would want to dial in the 2015, or are they required to use current year model?

Will Dungey be on a 2016 KTM at A1 or will they wait until outdoors?

I might be an idiot for not knowing this but havent kept up with this stuff recently.

Ask Dan Lamb?

I'd say it's safe to assume he'll be on the most current Factory Edition (more on that soon).

I'm going to not subtly tell you all that I'm friends with somebody in the know because it makes me cool.

I agree, right now with these one off sx races one would think that testing in a legitimate "race environment" but they're honda and Honda does what Honda wants and honda wants what Honda does with a solid input from Honda

Anyone else think it's bull there riding s 2016 . In 15, it s like it's a production rule for everyone bar KTM . I don't mind if they make it like the gp s all full factory bike . But this bending of the rules Is just stupid imo

I think it's stupid the other manufacturers don't do the same thing, not that KTM figured out away to do it following the rules.

What's the issue?

Other manufacturers could follow, but probably cant, Japanese have specific production line timelines for each type of bike.

So Dungey will be lining up on a 2016 Bike on the 3rd Jan 2015! Nice

Hopefully they don't find anything else they need to tweak before the outdoors, seeing a 2017 line up in 2015 will be mind blowing.

At this rate by 2020 we will be seeing 2030 bikes on the line!

in the most elite dirt bike series in the world, why do we have so many equipment handicapping rules anyway?

The only thing keeping them from doing the same as KTM is them. It isn't can't it is don't want to.

Any other manufacturer can do what Ktm is doing. It's not even a loophole, it's following the rules.

KTM isn't getting any special treatment. They follow the rules by producing the minimum required bikes for a model to be raced.

The same as Kawasaki did a few years back in order to get RV on the new model bike. And the same as Yamaha did a few years before that to get Langston on the new model bike. No difference, and this way in theory atleast, the consumer can line up and buy a true race tested model in the following year.

I'm just sayin, F a bunch of rules to help the little guy? The big 4 Japs is not the little guy. I don't care what they run, 500 2 strokes, electric, steam engine. Who give a F? Whoever is fastest wins.
