One of the most forthright interviews I have seen. He was very open about not having confidence in the KTM. The guy kid seems genuinely excited about the Suzuki and RCH. He's going to kill it in 15.

Interesting comments about his thoughts on KTM and Suzuki.

Curious what the dyno readouts are on the KTM vs. the Suzuki. He seemed like the KTM was down on power. In my mind I figured the Suzuki and KTM would be comparable on power. To hear him talk, it sounds like the KTM was holding him back last season which is pretty scary. I don't want him to get much faster for competition sake.

The interview he said the KTMs have the power, but it's about putting it to the ground and Suzuki does it better.

Yeah, at that point he was talking about 250 GP days.

That has always been Honda's thing too, you don't need mega power if you cant put it to the ground

Good interview, very candid, I liked it a lot

I expect him to be slightly quicker in 2015 ...scary for the opposition....

Just another pro who doesn't think highly of the ktm

Well, he was honest.

Never thought he looked quite as comfortable on the KTM as he did the zook, can't wait to see what he does next year.

I always thought he looked good on the KTMS but I also knew he always didn't like the bike.

Poor Dungey...RV leaves and KR gets better equipment. I'll still cheer for him but I really believe the Suzuki worked better for him.

I'm excited to see how each rider adapts to their new rides.

I agree....he was honest. I just don't expect it in social media. I remember asking Michael Byrne what he thought about racing a factory KX250 against factory 450f's. He only had positive comments and that under certain track conditions his bike could be competitive. I appreciated his comment even though I knew it was bullshit. I think KTM would have appreciated less negative comments from their former rider Roczen but like you said I love the honesty.

Personally, I think Dungey looked better on it too. Millsaps was almost transformed on yellow, hope he does well this year on green.

I think all 5 colors are capable, some could do just as well in any of them, and some are just more particular.

Hopefully his new ride will give him the confidence to do some crazy shit like this again! Cool

Awesome interview Steve!

And I don't know exactly why.....but I LMFAO every time I see this pic! I guess being a vet rider , i appreciate the two dudes in front battling , and then you have this hopped up , ball of energy kid behind you just whipping / scrubbing the living shit out of his bike like a maniac. Love it!

I hope Tomac comes in strong and healthy this next SX season......because honestly , I think he is going to be the only one who challenges Kenny all the way to the end for the title. I think Kenny is definitely one of the favorites for it. He's going to be tough to beat indoors and outdoors from here on out.

Kenny wasn´t happy with the KTM even when he was winning on one in the GP´s. He loved his Suzuki, but there was that some kind of shitty deal with the team that made him change brands in the middle of season. I think he´ll do great on the Zook.

I also really feel for Dungey. I think he has been second guessing his decision to follow Roger (especially when Roger have critizised him in public). He was great on the Suzuki and was a Suzuki rider in the amateurs too. If (when) Kenny starts beating him on the Suzuki next year I think it´ll get in Dungeys head because he had the change to be Suzuki #1 guy.

He was asked his opinion and gave it! Very refreshing in today's sponser driven interview world!

Can't wait to see him back on a Yellow bike!

He will dominate the sport.

Vitard memebr better explained to him why a steel frame is better than an aluminium ! I mean what would Kenny know he is only AMA champ.

As a Suzuki lover myself I get it. No other bike corners as well as a Suzuki, and I've owned and raced every brand and put countless dollars into bikes to make them corner like a Suzuki. Even the mcr yz450 I had decked out in kit suspension didn't hold a candle to to rmz. I definitely didn't feel as confident jumping or on a few other key parts of the track, but in the corners every rmz I've owned is the benchmark for how I want my bike to feel. The ktm I owned felt like shit and I would never buy one again even though it felt like it had a small block v8 in it

One day when Davi retires I want to here his interpretation of the KTM. If Kenny says he think they flex weird I'd bet a monster like Davi going as quick as he does felt like he was riding elastic.

Cool to hear that his English is almost flawless in a couple of years. Not so easy to accomplish when you're from germany.

He's gonna kill it on yellow btw

I literally wrote this post out today, same pictures and all, and then decided I just couldn't be fucked trying to point out the obvious today... Had birthday cake to eat and things to read!

Ha! Expected that reply, I didn't say he couldn't scrub the KTM! He was definitely more entertaining to watch on the Suzuki though, probably just because he was young and he's toned that stuff down a bit now, but I'm hoping that's not the case Laughing

250 riders are usually more entertaining than 450 riders... Go figure.
