I guess that depends on how fast Rv can get the tracks dialed in but carioli has been racing these tracks for 10+ years so he would definitely have a advantage on setup and knowing the tracks. I would think the 2 day format should definitely help Rv with that though. should be good though

It'll be cool at least and epic I hope. Especially is some of the other speed's stay healthy.

Congrats on the French win Mohammed; must have made up for 11.

But you're still crazy; the man said it.

I think for at least the first few rounds (and likely certain other tracks unfamiliar to RV) that it won't just be AC222 giving RV fits, but the regulars too like Desalle, Paulin etc.

The talking heads will be quick to cast judgement, but it's a lonnggg GP season and it will be interesting to see how sharp RV's learning curve is

Yes 2 moto format will be big help for RV, he will need more time to learn the tracks.

Ignore the first 3-4 races, doesn't matter who takes em.

Season is long, won't be a 2 man show IMO.

Will we now get Cassidy Gray as a 30 second monster girl? Please make it happen.

This is what I'd be like if Floyd Mayweather and Manny Paciao actually fight.

And what of the other blazing fast riders that have beaten AC222 this year, next year may see a new champ that doesn't have a number 2 on the front plate.

Desalle and paulin are good but tony is a step ahead, he proves it every year. Tony can beat paulin and desalle i feel when he chooses to. RV is another beast.

You High bro? AC222 in this so called down year won more races than everyone but Desalle have won in their 450 careers. AC will elevate his game just like he did the second half of 2012 when his back was against the wall. AC and RV will win 95% of the races. Eli gave a taste of what RV will do being two seconds or close to it a lap faster than all the GP guys sans AC who would have easily just won the MXdN on a 350.

Never before have two riders in their prime completely dominated their competition for a good five years and then after that, go head to head in an entire series. This is going to be epic. This is Ali/Frazier type stuff except for an entire season.

Both in their absolute prime you're right

Yes some people could say they are near the end of their careers but if anything is going to drive them to perform its the fact that they know the size and weight of this particular fight, they are not daft.

Competitors !

It's going to be a long off season waiting.

in my opinion one of the reasons RV is so good is he is able to adapt to different tracks and different conditions seemingly at ease. add to that there are some new tracks on the schedule...

I just hope the board can remain civil enough to still come pay a visit as often as I do (like multiple times a day). I can see it now, when one of them wins a race their fans will be on here making stupid claims just to stir up the other side then vice-versa.

I just also hope they both stay healthy cause we know they will both push either other out of their comfort zones and I feel that these two icons speeds will leave everyone else fighting for 3rd.

Watching Tomac come through the pack that 3rd Moto...well...RV has him covered, and Tomac had everyone else covered to the tune of about 2 second...so I'll say that though RV may not with the title his first year there...he will without a doubt be the fastest...and will learn the ropes the first season, then come back the 2nd year and dominate the title.

Do not look for RV to race more than one season in the GPs.

This is going to be absolutely great!! I've. Always thought Poto would be able to handle Cairioli here in the states pretty handily, but in the GPs I think AC will have the advantage. I also used to think Poto has more raw speed than AC but now, I'm not so sure. I do know this... Haven't been this excited fora series in years!! Can't wait!!

Tempted to plan a trip to a gp round now, very tempting indeed.

The sights of Europe with the worlds fastest riders, what's not to like!

If neither gets hurt and we get to see some great racing, I'd say we win! No point picking the winner, just line 'em up on the gate and see what happens.

I can't bring myself to bet against Villopoto, considering he has never lost an MX Championship. This will be his toughest test yet for sure. New tracks, and no MX for a year and a half when the GPs start will make it even tougher for him. If anyone can beat Cairoli, it's Villopoto. If anyone can beat Villopoto, it's Cairoli.

I hope it all comes true as well.

This is the dream match up I wanted to see with Evert's and RC about 8yrs ago. Have one of them move to the other series.

Not so sure about Cairoli's "prime"... 29 is definitely on the downside. But Reed I think was 29 in '11 when he came out and busted Dungey's a_ _ in Hangtown moto 2 after not racing mx full time for two years, so...

Agreed. From what I understand, that was a skill he developed during his amateur days. Given his family's finances, he had to learn tracks very quickly, as they were unable to get to a track days early to practice. Seems to have worked out okay for him though.
