What do these guys really gain from racing other than hearing from a bunch of bitter old men that once raised how much more hardcore they were than these young whippersnappers, and how they don't care about representing America anymore?
Glory, and exponation..

Martin was limping real bad in the pits and in the parking lot. Buddy of mine spoke to him in the parking lot (their cars were parked next to each other) and Jeremy said he`ll be fine tomorrow.

These guys are going out and risking being able to walk and live a healthy life so one man can make a ton of money.
It's about time all these racers get a piece of the pie. I'm sorry.

I'm going one further and saying not only is AC going to win tomorrow, but he will show RV what makes him the best in Europe.

To speak with candor, AC222 is one of the best motocrossers of all time. If he goes 1-1 this weekend, he will be one of the biggest legends (with the likes of db, Magoo, O'Mara, Stanton) of the MXDN. If RV races the MXGPs next year, fans of moto are in for a real treat.

Tomac, on any given day, is the fastest motocrosser in the world. Would not be surprised if he goes 1-1 with the fastest time of the day. This track mirrors his specialty.

Thanks a million for the info Kongols! This is the first I have heard that he will actually be back tomorrow, I appreciate you sharing like this. Hopefully your friends aren't calling you a dick for being on your phone so much, but we appreciate all of the extra info and photos! Thanks also for clearing up the post about the cheers in the crowd when Martin crashed. I assure you if I was at a race here and Herlings crashed and people around me were cheering, I would be kicking many people in the nuts.

I am having a beer for you tonight!

It's easy to say that they were booing our riders sitting behind a keyboard on the other side of the world from the event.

The crowd may have made noise when he crashed, but it may have been an excitement noise from seeing a big crash, not an excitement due to being excited that it was an American rider.

The American riders are rockstars, and I really doubt the European fans dislike our riders. If they do, they're the same kind of people who go to the nationals here in America and hang over the fence and flip off JS7 (remember Southwick). Those people will always be there, and they always make the fans look bad wherever they're from. Just have to look beyond them. The true European fans have a lot of respect for our riders, and don't want to see them injured.

I can hand on heart tell you that 95% of Europeans regard American riders in exactly the same way as they do any rider from over here.

(edit: I think) Any animosity comes from the frustration people feel about the almost constant negativity shown towards GP riders by American fans, and when people get drunk they let their feelings known. Most Europeans take an equal interest in American racing as they do the GPs and have a huge amount of respect and admiration for American riders, they just don't feel it's reciprocated and worse, GP riders are often treated with contempt.

Whether intentional or not Team USA end up distancing themselves a little bit at the MXdN (or a lot, such as Donington in '08) because of this perceived sense of it being 'America vs the Rest of the World' - a situation which is has been largely created by the fact that you guys are not afraid of telling us that you're better than we are, so naturally our attitide becomes 'alright, we'll show you' sort of thing.

Luckily it is only a small minority, but no one boos the American riders personally, it's more a case that they're booing what they stand for, and thats basically the crux of it.

Personally speaking, for me one of the nicest things I've seen for a long time was seeing Dungey and his girlfriend socialising with Cairoli and Roczen for a few days after last years MXdN. I know they were competing in that Redbull Super5 race or whatever it was, but it also sort of symbolised a softening of this stupid, competitive divide that exists between both professional series that complicates this great sport. I'd like to see more of that.

David is correct, I went to 2 MXdN's not in USA and the American riders are very well received.

Sure some get a little over Nationalistic but to be honest the worst display of Sportsmanship I witnessed was at Buds Creek including the announcers trying to lead a chant of USA,USA while we were waxing the field.

Best post Ive read on here for a while.

I am totally sick of this US/Euro thing.

I have noticed it is only one or two members on here that say dumb things to start it all off.

I grew up watching GPs but still have total respect for the US riders and I am quite a fan of Dungey.

To be honest I think all the riders from wherever have a mutual respect for each other, it is just some narrow-minded fans that cause all this sh1t.

LOL at people trying to turn this into how shitty Euro fans are. Do you know how many fans boo RV or JS or Alessi every year at Supercross? Do you know how many times I've heard people at the nationals tell their kids they can't cheer for a certain rider because he's not American? There's some shitty American fans too that shit on their own series!

I told some USA fucktards that were sitting a few spots over to STFU at the 2010 MXDN. I wish people weren't so proud of their ignorance.

His inexperience shows, hope he's able to step up tomorrow and show everyone what a US Champion can do, wasn't very impressive today even before his mistake. Sitting behind Harri and having a tough time passing the top 10 riders of the MX2 GP class could be a reality check and ego booster.

It was pretty obvious that he was just cruising around, even in practice.
Yeah.. Cos you do that... Let's sit behind this slow guy so they think I'm shit.. He was in a race and he got pushed about.. Tried to pass kullas, and he got nerfed aside, then got passed by clout, he was doing all he could, bike set up looked suspect to me, that kicker, it's there because that is where everyone was going.. Tracks get rough, he looked like he didn't fancy the bumps much. Nice style, but I don't think he will come through, if he doesn't get a good drop... Glad he is ok though, was a tough one

Haven't had the pleasure of meeting J Martin this weekend, but all the reports I've seen from everyone that has say what a great, down to earth kid he is and he is very likeable. I'm glad to see that he is gonna be okay to race tomorrow, I know that everyone that was stood by us clapped as he came around after his crash.

I'm not sure how well he will do tomorrow, he wasn't really setting the world alight before his crash and I wonder how his style and his bike set up will work tomorrow as the track develops. He's very popular over here though

He needs to salvage a good moto. Cairoli looked phenomenal as always. Love watching Paulin ride too. Dunegy looked like he struggled through the end of the one roller section. Tomac looked like he will win his class without any mishaps.

That was a nasty get off. How does this work if he needs some pain meds to ride tomorrow? Is there some sort of "race day" related exemptions as far as testing goes? Or is there no testing for the nations? Just asking.

He can take painkillers if he needs to. Gajser was on painkillers today after a practice crash
