I love how they get into it so much. its like the core fans consist of 95% of the crowd versus like 30% here and the other 70% is the monster truck type crowd

Europe is kicking our butts in Ryder cup golf today as well. Could be a tough weekend for us but we aren't out of it yet by any means.

He went off the track twice before that didn't he? Definitely his worst race of the season. I didn't catch the last half of the race because I had to head to work.

We'll see. After timed practice and the qualifier, it seems that the U.S. based riders have slipped. Our TOP riders are getting beat by the 3rd-6th place GP guys.

Can't see the USA on the podium tomorrow, 4 or 5th possible. If they get on the 3rd step they should be happy. Already the excuses are lining up, " the are suffering from jet lag" " they should have come earlier", " should have sent Canard instead of Dungey"...They are out of thier league riding in Europe.

I guess you're talking about Utah, but what about Milville, Washougal, Red Bud, Unadilla, Budds Creek, Glen Helen, Muddy Creek, Hangtown, Hi Point, and Thunder Valley, are these "cookie-cutter SX style outdoor tracks"? I'd say most of them are rough as hell and all of them are very challenging in different ways.

I don't think they are out of their league but certainly out of there element and it seems somewhat unprepared

Those tracks, most of which have had SX style sections added to them, are groomed and NOTHING compared to the Lommel's and other GP tracks that Europe offers. The MXoN the last three years has proved that our riders are like fish out of water on a rough track.

I think that's a little strong personally. They've still got a very good chance. It may not be spectacular in the sense of winning motos by 30 seconds like the good old days, but Ryan, Eli and Jeremy (though there is a question mark over Jeremy's injury now) are quite capable of delivering solid results for a team win. Race wins too. All those top guys from both GP and AMA are so close in speed these days.

The only likely danger I can see threatening for the team win other than the USA; is from France. France are close - judging by today they don't appear to have an obvious weak link. Dylan Ferrandis was meant to be it but so far he's looked solid and fast. Perhaps Frossard? But again, so far he's been very smooth and quick. But of course it's early days.

I think it'll come down between those two teams though and whichever way the cards favour. Very very close tomorrow.

Now, it's safe to say Dungey and Tomac have no excuses to not finish as high as possible. With Martin's uncertainty, they both don't have the consistency card to play when they have an okay finish. They both need to be going for the win every time they're on the track.
