If all this turn south and JS7 is out, what happens to Seven gear? I mean looks at how no one wants anything with Lance Armstrong's name on it.

Since I switched from fox to TLD gear I have noticed the quality is nicer, also the fit and feel is better guess you could say. I may consider seven next ( Fav # and b-day is the 7th). Since its a TLD base line like the DC stuff I don't think its going to any where just up in sales. Would under armor go under (sorry for that) because of football players getting into trouble with the law ?? prolly not.

It's a leap because Stewart nuthuggers could come in and find Stewart in bed with their wife or mother and they'd go bake them biscuits than come back and clean the sheets for them after they were done they love the dude that much.

I suppose you see them as completely intertwined. I see a rider and a brand. I know some of the people behind it, like Roger and Troy. I also see some of their other marketing efforts, with riders not named James Stewart, which help make it a standalone brand.

Short of people who buy the gear because they're complete fans, others are likely buying it because they like the fit and look.

Under Armor isnt designed and sold through a single player, its an athletic gear company that sells gear for many different sports. Its not called MichaelVick Armor, so comparing Seven gear to Under Armor is a pretty big stretch.

As far as it becoming "cheap," I dont think it will happen since it is still good quality rebranded TLD gear, and people who support James will still buy it. He doesnt make/sell a lot of it anyway (compared to brands like Fox, Thor, etc).

That's kind of the way it has been marketed, after all, pretty well from the get go.

All of these different twists about how a paperwork issue is going to sink Stewart is disconcerting. . . Does anyone really believe its really as egregious as it's been made out to be? He got a TUE for it after all was said and done. It's like being pulled over for having prescription drugs without the prescription. . . If you can provide the paperwork, it's really a non issue.

I agree, without JS7, the 7 brand is nothing. I don't care if CP377 wears it or any other pro rider... It would be "marketing 101 hell" without him...

For those thinking Seven is rebranded TLD gear, you couldn't be further from the truth. TLD helped Seven start up and gave them a doorway into the business, but Seven is it's own brand. It has it's own designers, materials and production model. If you saw the gear up close you would know nothing has been rebranded except for helmets and honestly I think it's much better form and fit than any TLD gear sets.

Don't get me wrong, TLD is great, but Seven is just a notch above and I think they'll do just fine regardless of what happens with James.

I'm not sure that a full TUE exists. There may be one in the works, but it's apparently a major issue to apply for one...and then it has to be approved. That's for Supercross.

Because this is the first year of the National series drug testing, there's apparently a little more leniency on the requirements because of the lack of time available to educate the athletes and to bring them into compliance. As I understand it, there's something that's been filed that's adequate for now, but it's not a full TUE.

Well said. I bought Seven gear and I am highly impressed. Like Dean stated, Troy Lee is some of the best gear you can buy and Seven is better.

I don't think it's a leap at all when comparing seven the brand and js7.Seven is HIS gear line, it's not the gear he wears or likes. It's the gear he designed, made and endorses. It's James Stewart gear.

So yes, things turn south seven gear will be tarnished. It's simple business. If the owner of Starbucks shoots someone, Starbucks coffee sales will go down.

To tell the truth, I don't care what Stewart has or has not done in regards with the PEDs or any of the other on or off track issues and even if he does retire I still be able to say I got to see one of the best riders in the world in his prime and the BEST rider ever to race a 125.

HRP didn't really last much after Hannah stopped racing, other than another entity selling a chest protector. The rest of the gear just basically disappeared. I could see the same happening with Seven, even without any controversy.
