Baggett Fork Changes ???

Im sure people were paying attention when they interviewed Baggett after moto 1 , said the changed the whole forks out during testing this week . So does that mean no more SFF Air Forks , maybe went back to SFF or just standard Springs.

I'm not quite sure they're allowed to run spring forks due in part to the production rule and the suspension price cap in the 250 class. Sure would be interesting if that was the case though. He wouldn't be the first rider to abandon the air forks.

Maybe GuyB got a shot of the fork caps during his PitBits recon?

That's the same conclusion we came to with a rider I was testing with today. going back to SFF spring if PC will convert them or ditching them altogether and running stock PSF

He said they changed fork settings? There are so many ways to play with new airforks. His bike been running really low front last races but now bike seemed more high at front and more balanced.
Whole production rule is joke in 250.. yes you can in theory buy PSF2 the ones Yamaha runs or SSF air on others.. but really you cant.

If I recall at the beginning of the season they were talking about adapting to the new forks which they were forced to run due to them coming stock on the bike. Looks like they have to retain the stock outer tubes, lugs, and cartridges.... Which tells me they have to use the stock air forks....

The manufacturer’s original concept of single shock must be maintained.

In the 250 Class, the replacement and modification of forks and shocks are limited to the following:

Forks and shocks may be either stock or aftermarket units listed on the Approved Equipment List.

Homologated inner and outer fork tubes, axle lugs, cartridge, and piston rod must be retained; modifications are permitted. All other fork parts may be replaced.

Homologated shock body, shaft and reservoir must be retained; modifications are permitted. All other shock parts may be replaced.

Fork and shock assemblies must be complete and functioning assemblies, in addition to the controlled parts. Retail prices of approved forks and shocks may not exceed the following cost, exclusive of all taxes:
1. Both fork legs (less triple clamps): $5,175.00
2. Shock assembly: $2,000.00"

Also, if I wanted to buy an A-kit I would refuse to pay more than $7,175.... Because if PC charges a penny more they cannot run them on their bike.... Not sure how they are getting by that rule. The last time I checked an A-kit was over 10k.

If I recall Baggett didn't say settings . he said they changed the whole forks out .

To speed up testing time, I'm sure Bones has other sets with different valving. Having worked with a rider for awhile I'm sure they know his tendencies, I doubt they'd go as drastic as what's mentioned here.

PSf is not stock on the 250 and they had SFF air at Budd's Creek.

Outdoor suspension rules are different that SX. They were running the full on works SFF air.

There isn't a difference in the works and kit version of SFF Triple Air in the parts that are homologated. (Forks: The lugs, cartridge, dampening rod, and lower tubes/ Shock: body, clevis, shaft.) Pistons, adjusters, and a few other small parts don't fall in the homologated rules and can be changed.

STAR YAMAHA is running KYB PSF forks with upgrade parts, not PSF2. They are available from ENZO RACING. SHOWA SFF AIR TAC is available from Pro CIrcuit.
