He just ran 6th overall !!!

Better than some programmed factory robot saying what everyone wants to here!

He thought the track sucked , still kicked ass , end of story.
Pretty much sums it up...

As someone else said in another thread, "This place is TOXIC" !! I guess there is always going to be haters, no matter what, but a little common sense goes a long way. I bet most of the keyboard jockeys around here couldn't get around that track, let alone last 30+2 at that level.

"Takeout moves" ?? WTF... He's probably one of the cleanest riders out there. He's not going to take no shit, but he never starts any either.

"Average finish" ? Dizzy I guess all those guys behind him, must really SUCK ? Whistling

The track was sick today. Super muddy in practice and then turned into a great race track!

I was done by 3 so I went to I-81 Motorsports Park to practice... You wanna talk about a shitty track? I don't think that place has been groomed in years Laughing Still had fun though!

I only know what I saw on the tube...a track so gnarly I seriously doubt I could even negotiate it with any speed if at all. These guys are badasses.
thats pretty much what I was thinking. I get all bent out of shape when the ruts are up to my pegs. I couldn't imagine trying to negotiate ruts that are as deep as a 19" tire. its gnarly, and I love to watch guys ride the nastiest, most brutal conditions. I was actually hoping it would rain for the second motos.

In a twisted sort of way, 'worst track ever' is a compliment. I dig WP and am happy for him. He is absolutely entitled to his opinion. In my opinion, I prefer the top riders in the sport be challenged by the track. I don't care for 'flow'. I don't care how far they jump. I like ruts and knee deep braking bumps. Off cambers and hills. I'd like to hear Barnett's views on this topic!

I don't get why anyone could dislike that kid. He's been in the trench's a long time compared to a lot of riders.....and he still kept pushing as hard as he could at every race.

Remember last year? Weston only got to run like what...??....5 rounds? Because he didn't have the money to do all the rounds. He's been hovering real close to the top 5 .....which goes to show that RCH made a very good decision hiring him.

Maybe I'm biased since I've met Lou and Weston a bunch of times and actually consider them some what friends of mine......I just don't get how anyone could dislike what Weston's accomplished?

It's a true Cinderella story.....how the heck would someone not dig that?

that was the american excuse for getting smoked at teuschental mx des nations last year wasnt it? not being used to riding technical rutty gnarly tracks?
Barcia said last year at the MXoN press conference "we don't have tracks like this in the states." After seeing yesterday's race all I could think about was how much it reminded me of Teuschenthal as well. We might not be able to duplicate Lommel but Saturday's track was about as Euro as they come.....at least it looked that way on TV.

Regarding Weston's comment about the track right on for Weston expressing his opinion. By the looks of Saturday's race that looked like one bad azz real MX track but that doesn't mean it was a lot of fun necessarily with all those ruts. In the same breath however this week's track wasn't Pala or Elsinore it was the real enchilada.

For anyone dissing Weston have you actually spoken with him or his father ever? I have and Weston's a great kid and his dad Louie, mom and family represent what this sport is about IMHO. In the face of one challenge after another they adapted instead of giving up. Racing only a handful of Nationals while each year Weston's SX finishes improved. I was pumped beyond words when I heard they got the RCH deal....bikes.....mechanic....AND FREAKING RC! This coming on the heels of practicing with James Stewart. Couldn't be happier for the Peick's.

Anyone still harping on the bike kicking incident did you ever race? If you did did your paycheck determine how many parts you can buy that week, how many nights in hotel, etc? Weston's also ridden through a lot of injuries plus survived numerous crashes that would put a lesser rider on the sidelines for the rest of the evening. Weston shrugged them off and made the main time and time again. Dude's got some serious heart.

For me the bike off the stand incident I look at as a huge positive....it was an honest demonstration of the heart of the racer.....the racer that is Weston Peick

Don't confuse with non US Vitards sharing their views as being US haters. I like having the perspective of the fans outside the US.

Also miss Geoff Meyer's posts. I don't care if he said Abraham Lincoln had signed with RCH for 2015 the GP stuff it was a plus IMHO him being here. Geoff was helping me stay current on things outside the US which is especially appreciated in the summer time. My day job hours increase substantially during this time period so my online time isn't as much as usual.

Bring back...MX Large....was that Geoff or was it MX!? Whatever his screen name Guy B and crew can you give Geoff another shot please?

Average for a factory rider. He got beat by AS29 that is not what I call kicking ass. Look at the results he has been about 6th all year long. So what stood out about this week?

Yes I agree he's not up on the box but guys are hating on him saying he's average. Pretty sure RCH and Suzuki are happy getting there bike up around the top 5!

Short has been a top Factory guy for a while now , what bad about getting beat buy him? Im sure his KTM isn't stock....

Nothing stood out this week just a guy putting his head down getting better as the season goes on.

thats exactly what i thought- the track looked very similar conditions to teuschental with the techincal ruts etc. Which was great, better than the usual perfectly groomed similar surfaces at each round. Nice to see some diversity in track conditions- i actually expected to see roczen win much more easily than he did, dungey really impressed me this weekend how good he rode the tough conditions.

England dont send a team- its Great Britain (thats why you often see Scottish riders in the team)

no excuses though, our team isnt good enough to win! Its nice to enjoy the mx des nations from a neutral perspective- must be awful for you guys with that huge chip on your shoulder!

Personally I love to watch the Americans come and ride on tracks that offer different challenges to what they're used to- its nice to see the top guys from each series go head to head once a year. Funny to read all the excuses afterwards every year too from the riders/ fans that think their team is better than it is! Track too sandy, track too hardpack, ruts too big, etc etc

great stuff!

I'm always impressed with Dungey. He won his first SX of the season at the most technical track of year up to that point. Hope the gnarly track thing continues.

I believe the riders certainly have a right to their opinion, but I also believe they should direct their criticism of the tracks to the AMA and not announce it publicly. That is just my opinion. It isn't the right thing to slam the track publicly because of the owners involved and how much work and dedication that is required to keep the track in condition. Let the riders remember that they all have to ride the same track. It isn't like Roczen, Dungey etc. get to ride a completely different track that is paved. Be fair to the track owners and offer your criticism and suggestions to the right people at the right time. That is a lesson I always tried to teach my son. These guys are working hard to create a challenging track that is difficult but fair.

Everyone isn't going to like the track, but I didn't hear of anyone else criticizing it publicly and as far as we know, they may all have disliked it. I was there spectating and I didn't see why there should be any complaints. It did look knarly, but each track should have its own identity. The lap times were about the same as anywhere and I didn't notice that there was any issues with making passes. Just my 2 cents.

Didn't they bring in like 300 tons of mulch for this race?

I believe there was a video interview with Roczen who stated he didn't like it either.

Amen to that shit. The morning practices were a joke. Hell half the bikes were getting stuck on the hills. That section from the first turn all the way to the turn before the pro finish line was really hard to navigate. I'm a slow guy but I so some seriously skilled guys struggling on that track in the morning practices. What about those poor kids on the little bikes

The track shaped up nicely for the afternoon though. We had a great time!!

He is entitled to his opinion and can express it. Weston has always been very open and honest and a no BS type of guy. Does he care what you are saying about his comments, I doubt it. Hey I had several riders at Glen Helen tell me what they did not like and I listened. Same thing for a few of the riders at Hang Town I spoke to. Things they did not like. Now do I agree to some of them I do. If you liked every track you raced then your a better person than me. Some tracks I don't like and choose not to go back but it does not mean it not a good or great track, it means I don't like it.
Enjoy opinions because some might lead to a change for the better (I don't just mean MX I mean life) for you or everyone. Sometimes one line means nothing more than riders following other riders and not trying another line. Its all good.

I was more baffled than anything.

Whatever, good for Weston, it typically means he is getting more famous and successful.
