You hope he doesn't come back in 2015 because that way a rider you are a fan of will have a chance of winning a championship. If cycles repeat themselves then next year is RV's healthy year (like 2013) where he will win both the MX and SX championship. Then 2016 come in and win the SX championship, but injure himself and not be able to race MX, so then he retires. Wink
And then you woke up...Dry

I don't have a problem with people trying to get the holeshot on rumors/news. It's one of the reasons I come here.

But I don't think it's cool to hide behind a screen name and bash somebody who posts using their real name.

Now, if 48dirtbikewhatever named others who also call Keefer a liar, that could be fact checked, and that's something at least.

And I'm on the mindset that Keefer's job involves secrets every day...if he was such a liar and distrusted, how would he have a job? He's always been cool and upfront with me...which is why I'm defending him.
I agree Ridge, however everyone on here is at most "acquaintances" with him, he's lied and not came though on many important things he's said he was going to do. I was just throwing my opinion in with everyone else's.....

RV apparently is wrestling with deciding on what he wants to do. Race here? Retire? Race in Europe?

As for him letting RV go, I'm not sure that's exactly how it is. I believe his deal with RV goes through October or so. But I also hear that Aldon is working on a program where he'll be the trainer for the whole Red Bull KTM squad, plus a couple other pros (AC) and some amateur racers.

Also, if you believe the rumors, it sounds like Mike Grondahl is looking at purchasing RV's training compound in Florida.

At least that's what's floating around as rumors here today.

Would Roczen still be on board since he's going to be an RCH rider?

Thanks for the info Guy.

Seems to me there are some legs to this rumor. Kind of like the nationals deal.

I hope he does whatever makes him happy. The dude has earned it for sure.

If I rode for Redbull KTM I would hate being told I HAVE to go on the Aldon Baker program. Take training and nutrition suggestions yes, bloodwork and nagging about what I ate for breakfast no.

Whos Mike Ghrondal?

well if he raced in europe i think the GPs would get a larger US following next year....... that and the AC vs. RV debate could be put to rest.

Mike Grondahl is part owner of the Geico Factory Connection Honda team and the former CEO of Planet Fitness gyms. I believe he also owns part of the Alias gear company which the Geico team wears, and he is the new lease holder for Southwick after the last promoter retired. Seems to be a busy guy.

I would absolutely love to see RV race the GPs.

I'm not the biggest RV fan when he races in the US, mainly because he's usually the favorite to win, but if he skipped across the pond I'd be waiving my RV2 flag every day.

Could set up Geico like JGR and have a facility for their riders.

Smart move.

i really hope retirement isn't in his near future.

but if he does retire, talk about going out on top. not quite RC "mic-drop" but still indefinitely on top.

RV is in Europe right now, probably just been to see his new home for the next two years or so.

My completely uneducated guess is that most racers who want to be champions would be ecstatic about having the opportunity to have such a training regimen at their disposal and would jump at the chance to be on that team. They may even take a lower salary, ala the PC "discount" in the past to offset having such superior machinery.........

If you look at that picture someone posted of RV on a fence line at a GP you'll see what looks to be his agent behind him.

Now, why would an agent travel to Europe with a client? Just for kicks? Vacationing together? Or, to look at possible deals?

I don't know the answer, but it's a little odd for an agent to be on vacation with a client... My 2 cents.

Maybe there was some truth about what Giuseppe Luongo said about getting a top rider from America to race the MXGP?

Or a recipe for burnout?

How many of us had that coach when we were growing up that got the most out of us and had us winning but made us wonder whether it was all worth it in the end because we were so miserable?

Bad analogy I know, but why does rv seem miserable? Why did RC quit when he was winning? Why was Jake Weimer miserable during his time under Aldon? Why did Blake Bagget quit the program? Why did James Stewart quit the program?

Id rather choose to be a part of his program then have me be told I'm going to folllow it.

A few on that list probably looked at the money they were spending and thought that after X amount of years, they know what he does and they could do it on their own without spending the hefty price they were paying for Aldon.

And some guys just arent built for that program. Its a mindset more than anything.

Winning or losing. There is only one thought in that camp.

I just can't see Villo getting his knee fixed all of a sudden and then calling it quits. I would love seeing him coming over to Europe, imagine a Villopoto, Cairoli and Herlings (If he races MXGP) battle and him maybe finally beat a KTM to a world title. I Think Kawi and Monster would pay big money for that!

Agree that if Kawi and Monster made him an offer he couldn't refuse, he might do it. Given the vibe about the situation here in the states, though, it would have to be a lot of money.

There's nothing inconsistent with a guy getting surgery and ending his career; seems pretty common to wait until they have wrapped it up to get some things fixed.
