Why has this ignorant thread gone this long? Oh yeah, no race yesterday.

It's already been said, but there was no top five (at that time) rider to fill the spot RV left. Metty is doing fine. He's fifth in points...I think Kawasaki is probably pleased.

Also, Lame (applicable), most riders' contracts have clauses that say if they have to have surgery for an injury, one that happens as a biprosuct of racing...he can get it fixed without the threat of being kicked to the curb.

My guess is the team is probably in communicato with RV and his doctors and the 3 parties are all on board with his knee, his treatment, rehab, and comeback. Dude just won them 4 titles in a row SX and others outdoors, not to mention the 250 SX and MX titles. I'm sure they're taking that into consideration too...after they've consulted with his doctors.

If im Kawasaki and I got a guy like RV who delivers me a championship in every series he enters. And a guy who is clearly getting burnt out with everything and considering retirement. I not only let him have a vacation but I make it mandatory and pay him in hopes that his absence makes him miss it and gives him the fire to resign for a couple more years. One thing I don't do is make him travel the entire series doing everything he hates most about the sport and put the final nail in the coffin for his retirement

A) He had knee surgery. B ) He didn't go on vacation. He went to 2 events on behalf of Monster and Parts Unlimited (Parts Europe). These may not sound like "work" but they are at the request of his employers.

Just throwing this out there. What if this knee surgery is staged? You see him on crutches, you seen his pics going under the knife, bla bla bla. You don't think they could pull that off, if they wanted too? Now do I think RV had surgery, yes I do. Just throwing that out there.

JT, please stop coming here with facts, and reasonable explanations, I mean how are the vitards ment to keep coming up with wacky explanations when the real ones are just so simple,

RV did indeed have knee surgery to repair damage that required surgery.

Kawasaki agreed to him getting the surgery. They hold next year's sx title with much more importance than the outdoors.

When you win four consecutive sx titles you will join him and mc on the list of only ones to accomplish such record, then you can make decisions in how you want to wind down your career.

If Kawasaki isn't upset, which they aren't, then why are you?

This is one of the dumbest things I've read in a while. Really this moron deserves to be kicked for stupidity. So about 3 weeks prior to nationals kawasaki finds out their top rider needs knee surgery. What did you expect them to do...get RD, KR, or JS to break their legally binding contract, and jump on a new bike with very little time to test. Sounds like a win for all involved. Good god suspend him for a few weeks!!!!!!

Kawasaki has managed to retain Ryan throughout his entire professional career and win more titles than anyone-else...lately...

And, you're telling me they don't know what they're doing?

He's accomplished everything there is to accomplish here in America. I'd personally love to see him go after a world championship in 2016. We will never know with him but maybe he wants to travel to Europe with his wife before he has kids and while he's there win a title and race. I wouldn't bet money on this, but it's possible. Going back on topic, who cares if he traveled to Europe? His job is to win titles, I understand it'd be cool if he showed up to sign autographs but how many pros really want to do that after doing it every week since they were 16. Also, being at the races would kill them and they'd just want to rush back into it. If he wants to go to Germany to watch the Grand Prix, let him.

Metty second rate?! WTF he is top 5 in points! He's not RV but who is!

Put me on to the drugs you are smoking they are sure good....

Here's my question (and I'm sure there will be plenty of heat for it) and it's from a different angle -

He's under contract to race the Nationals for 2014. He is unable to do so because he had surgery and is recuperating.

During this recuperation period he is well enough to travel to Europe.

Question - if he's able to do that, why doesn't Kawasaki have him in the pits at the Nationals doing PR work? He's the reigning champ and one of the most popular riders on the circuit, so it seems like you'd want to have him front and center for the public.
It seems difficult to explain how your top rider is well enough to be travel to Europe but isn't well enough to be in the pits. Other teams have injured riders in their pits signing and such while they're down, so it isn't unheard of.

Is there a clause that has him on unpaid leave right now? Because if Kawasaki is paying him his contracted amount and not getting anything of value in return during this time it just doesn't make sense. We aren't talking a $10/hr contract.
Maybe this has already been answered somewhere else. If it was then i missed it, and if someone could post a link to it I would appreciate it.
There might be a very valid reason but I don't know what it is - that's why I'm asking.

It's a legit question so please try to answer it in the same spirit it was asked.
What do you think he was doing in germany? Enjoying the weather?
He was there doing PR work for another one of his sponsors.
He was there for the release of 2015 Thor gear.

Regardless of not being on vacation, how do you replace the most successful rider of the last 10 years with an equal or similar calibre rider when everyone of the very top top top guys is under contract?

Yeah, you are a moron just like the OP. Traveling through Europe does not put RV's surgically repaired knee in near the amount of danger that racing would. Also, he is going to have to go through PT before he can ride again. You RV haters are a special breed of stupid.

The OP is brainless. RV just handed Kawasaki four straight SX championships, so I think they are happy with him.

I don't know what he was doing in Germany, that's why I asked. Thanks for your smartazz response.

It still doesn't answer my question as to why Kawasaki doesn't have him at the Nationals - he's a US based rider and is absent from the scene.

Just trying to figure out their reasoning.

Just like I predicted...

I hate it when school is out - all the kids are unsupervised for hours on end.

Here's hoping this year they work on your reading comprehension and then you can understand my question instead of having the knee-jerk reaction "WTF? He isn't swinging from the testes of my hero? I'll flame him with some juvenile response!"

Did you even read my question? Where did I I ask why he wasn't racing?
Try reading and understanding it. I acknowledged he was recovering from surgery and couldn't race, so why the need to make your comment if you read and understood that? Only two answers for that: either you didn't read it or you didn't understand it.
And you even said "Traveling through Europe does not put RV's surgically repaired knee in near the amount of danger..." - since you acknowledge THAT , we can go back to my original question (you know, the one you either didn't read or understand, remember?) - if he's well enough to travel to Europe why can't he travel to the Nationals and be in the pits doing PR?

Would you feel better if I had a question as to why a rider you dislike wasn't in the pits while they're recovering?

You illiterates are a really special breed of stupid (sound familiar?). Now, go slip into your RV Onesies, snuggle your RV doll and sleep well knowing you defended your hero. The adults are trying to talk.

See how easy that was, innanet tuff guy?

If you can't answer the question then try to resist the urge to make a fool of yourself instead. But I guess it's like a monkey flinging crap - you're just gonna do what you're gonna do..

Now, back to my original question - does anyone know why Kawasaki doesn't have RV at the Nationals doing PR (NOT racing for all the other tards that can't get it) but instead has him in Europe?
I was hoping to see him at Muddy Creek this weekend but doesn't look like that's going to happen.
