I'll cast no judgment because transgenders have it tougher in life than most, but a female born in a mans body is still a man physically.

Well he ( now a she )....has an advantage of having the strength of a man......but races in the women's class.

It's a touchy subject.......but she / he shouldn't be able to race against the class " she wishes she was in ".......and instead race the class that " He should be in ".

Doesn't this same rule pretty much apply to every single sport on the planet?

Some dude that's a power lifter and wants to become a chic......is he able to switch to the female power lifting class?

Me thinks not.

Whoever said "it comes in 3's" in one of the other threads was absolutely correct! Stewart busted, Tony's meltdown, transgender rider at LL. And to think there wasn't even a race this weekend.

I definitely want to follow this story because if they reverse the dq then I'm going to race the women's class next year.

And if you're a woman that should be your right regardless of how you're born.

You could make dozens of dollars with a strategy like that!

Not sure how people can judge this one without any supporting evidence. There's 3 sentences on motoplayground about it and a picture that may or may not show some masculinity in muscle tone..........

Anyone seen Tarah Geiger? Peely help me out with the photos here........looks like a man (muscularly), is a woman....no disrespect.

I don't see the issue born a boy. Then you are a boy. Born a girl then you are a girl. Pretty simple.

In 1977 Renee Richards, born a man, won in court to play in the womens US open of tennis.

I support play as you are born.

Many kids are born with both genitalia and doctors and parents pick which gender they want their child to be. Sex isn't an either/or thing, it's on a spectrum. We culturally have created two genders, but that's not biology.

I also used to think it was simple. I couldn't have been more wrong!

Right. Three sentences and a picrture on Motoplayground is not enough information.

Yeah, but because she has woman's reproductive organs she can not achieve male core strength, which is key in moto

This seems simple enough. Create transgendered classes. Somewhere back in time they created vet and vintage classes. That worked out more or less.

A bit of education can go away a long way, it always helps to try and educate yourself when it comes to things like this, it's not black and white.

If the dq was based on gender and, if it goes to court, it is likely that Danielle will win the right to race in the women's class.

Danielle would appear, from the results, to do pretty well in the men's classes he/she races in. Probably very unfair for he/she to race in the women's class.

I think the real issue here, is the fact that "it" rode a 2-stroke. Far bigger than "dick, or no dick". On a sidenote, would that make a good game show? "Tell us Bob, who's the next contestant on Dick, or No Dick?"

There is no gender issue here. There is an issue of sex. Gender is what you think you are.

If a male who dresses like a female rides with other men, would it be allowed? Yes. That is a gender issue.

Is there any information on Danielle?

Wow. Some of the facebook people commenting actually seem worse and more mean than some of Vitals worst offenders. And they even go by their own names.

Let Him/Her race any class they want for free and declare 2 spots for what ever position He or She gets.

How often is this going to be an issue ? Sounds more like a building lawsuit

Would NOT win in court. It's the reason the test exists in other sports.
As a parent of a FEMALE racer, who is 3 time Loretta's qualifier, I would not be happy if my DAUGHTER missed out on going to Loretta's because she finished behind Daniel.

I see this as a way to make it to Loretta's. Has this young person had a surgery or what's the facts here? A personal preference in sexuality does not change biology, and therefore cannot qualify someone for that class.

1. Born male
2. Has male genes
3. Says hes a woman
4. People call a man "she".
5. Jesus christ people are fucking lunatics.

It is a can of worms that I don't want to open but I have seen DW race and is a very fast racer. Not surprised DW went 1-1-2 in the women's class.

There's an easy, permanent solution to this issue. No more gender-based classes. I'm really amazed that in this age of equality, any sport (not just motocross) has gender specific classes. Run what ya' brung.

Told my kid, man she is fast for a girl, when i watched him at Byron, then later he told me why. So I definately believe the male advantage thing.
