I apologize for another topic but I have to get this off my chest and hope someone actually reads it, for what it is worth.
It is obvious Stewie (or one of his team members) dropped the ball by not turning in the proper documentation on the prescribed medication for ADHD. This is patently obvious.
But for real. Is this how we treat the face of this sport for the last 12 years? As soon as he makes any mistake, some just throw him straight under the bus? James has not been in trouble left and right and has not only made the Coombs family and Feld a crap load of money but has also been the sports icon since RC retired.
Yes, James dropped the ball but he has a Dr.'s prescription for a medical condition. The drug can stay in your system varying amounts of time. But he is been an ambassador to the sport, especially the last few years, showing a love and passion for the fans and the great sport of SX and MX
And this is what he gets. It disgusts me. We all make mistakes. Should he pay a penalty? Yes, of course. He broke a rule. But it shouldn't be as extreme to possibly end his career. That is ludicrous. I have always been a CR22 and RC4 fan as well but they both can stick it for being such smart asses about all this. This is not caring for our sport. This is trainwrecking our sport. Yeah, we made USA Today and ESPN. But not for the talent and passion. For something that has very little impact on someone's actual performance.
I don't expect WADA or USADA to give James any breaks. They owe James nothing. However, Feld, the FIM and MX Sports should remember that James Stewart Jr. has been an ambassador to this sport, been the face of the sport, a personable human being who actually cares about his sport (unlike a certain Monster rider) and has made them all a lot of money and brought the sport to new elevations. They should take all that under consideration, especially with this being a first offence.
Davey, I respect you, sir. I know you are in a tough situation. But James has been there for you and for your series. Be there for him, through the good times and the bad and let him race the Outdoors and give the FANS what they want. Some good racing. People make mistakes. Make them pay a price but in this case it should not be nothing like the BS we are hearing.
I'm just so over all of this. I hope he gets some benefit of the doubt. If he doesn't then I'm not sure how Feld or MX Sports can look in the mirror each night without feeling like crap. Yes, he erred. But that does happen. To us all.

I'm sorry it was James. I have been loving watching him ride for years and it is great to see him back on top. You don't know how much I wish it was the guy that ran off and hid when the testing came into play.
It's up to Stewart and his posse to know what will get you popped and they failed......case closed

Life is not just about rules. It is about having guidelines and then tailor fitting those guidelines to the different situations an circumstances.
Seriously, applying different rules with stuff like this is opening up such a can of worms that it's hardly worth bothering in the first place.
You have wrote a well thought out statement and your feelings show through and that's a good thing. However, and you may disagree with this, but rules are black and white. There is no sliding scale based on what any one person feels another person did or didn't to for said sport or profession.
An example is a weight rule, above you're fine below its a no go. This should be handled in similar fashion. When rules are tweaked into a grey area it has a larger negative effect than any one person or situation. The proof of that is literally right in front of you with the AMA themselves.
The punishment handed down will have to have an effect that will curtail the future use or oversights involving the proper disclosure up front. Its a mistake I doubt will happen again.
With that said, it will be interesting.. It does suck that so much is at stake. Hope it all plays out correctly.

This sport is still growing and until RC retired most here loved the RC vs JS battles and seeing Reed try but couldn't hang.
Now that RC retired the sport looked for someone to hang with JS, Reed maybe?, RV Barcia the up and comer? Tomac?...ECT. then Reed shows signs of speed and wins...HECK YEAH REED and RV CAN DOIT!
See whats going on here? we need someone to battle Stewart and now that Stewart is in jeopardy of being out

The sport needs the likes of RC, JS, RV and the Reeds more than J.Stewart needs the likes of FIM, MS sports & AMA
He made his money and if he wrote a book? he's comfy.
Some people will hate on him for this , but those are the same people that have always hated James. Me, I'm going to keep rooting for him and hope he comes back as strong as ever

Nope, ya don't. but I bet he gets a better deal than say AJ Allmendinger did when he was caught two years ago...Why? because he does bring money in and the reason JS does is because you, me and every fan that loves Moto enjoys watching him race.

Now if it just a fine thats ok, FIM won't be back for SX because they don't leave the states so he will be back racing SX

I like watching James as much as the next guy, but time evolves. Had none of this happened, you realize he'd retire at some point, no?
Star players have always gotten preferential treatment. Should it be that way? Doesn't matter. Cause that ain't the discussion.
What is news is when a star athlete does NOT get the preferential treatment. Its too rare. And so it begs the question, why now? Why Bubba?
