Apparently JS played sore loser with Pourcel and refuse to shake his hand? Pourcel said on motoverte interview that the US team called him out for riding over the top. Do they think cuz they are the superstars and we all recognise JS and RV they are unbelievable riders that they are going to hand it to them without fighting for it. Pourcel and RV went down but this was just racing in a tight pack.

And Pourcel raced Bubba in the first laps of Moto 3 put a racing blockpass on him that JS didn't like. Man this is racing for your nation, for your flag he isn't not going to hand it easy to him. Seb told JS in the press conference that he saw him putting passes like that on Reed all year. To which JS responded that yes but he respects Chad...

Anyway it's just like Matterley in 06: The US wins but JS ends up a sore loser again!!!
So you're saying no ones ever banged bars in America before?

Riders went down from some sort of contact in every single race, but in the few instances the rider happened to be wearing an American shirt suddenly the 'euro's' race dirty?

well Stewart hasn't been passed on a motocross track since Carmichael at Red Bud if memory serves me correctly... probably forgotten what it feels like to have to defend his line!

i think it was awesome for him and philippaerts/pourcel to get together for a couple of laps... i don't think anyone at the track, or on here expected pourcel or philippaerts to beat him for a full race but just to have those few laps of action was great

Lets clear this up so it doesn't escalate into another crazy argument thats way out of context.

James Stewart (along with the Ferry & Villopoto) is highly respected the world over, not just in the US. What that guy does on a bike is phenomenal and I can promise you that the majority of the crowd at Donington showed their appreciation by clapping him around every practice session, every warm up and the final lap of every race. Ok one dickhead threw a plastic bottle which was indefensible, but thats happened in the states too remember!

It's true that a few cheers went up when he crashed and couldn't start the bike, but thats because us Brits always root for the underdogs - Rattray suffered exactly the same luck in his first race. Stewart was cruising to another clear victory so it was totally unexpected and suddenly opened up all sorts of possibilities for the French team aswell as the Brits who were in a decent position at that point.

The only thing JO2910 is saying is that it would have been nice if Stewart could have been magnaminous in victory rather than reject Pourcel's consolidatory handshake. It's not good sportsmanship and suggests a slightly inflated ego thats all.

The whole problem is that there is not even one AMA-rider able to challenge Bubba. Now that JS wasn't able to get away from Pourcel and Philippaerts, he didn't know what to do. It was just a new experience for him, can't blame him... Just like you can't blame Pili and Pourcel fighting for their position/country.
JS thought he would just ride away 3 seconds a lap like he's used to, but simply couldn't. But saying they tried to take him out is just bullshit. They were just fighting for a position.

I remember when rubbing was part of racing. Even local races, I have been in my share of dust ups. Now, when pro's come together, it's dirty riding? These guys are racing for dollars, titles and their countries over the course of a season. That one more spot might make the difference between qualifing or not, making the main or not, moving up a spot in the championship or just pride. If you have to run a front tire in on them, then so be it. If the gp crew took out JS and RV in order to win, then that's racing. Don't get me wrong though, there is a fine line between too aggressive and just dirty. I didn't see the race so I am guessing but it doesn't sound that bad.

USA won and order was maintained but you have to expect the GP guys to put up a fight. If Stewart had walked away like he did all summer long, what fun would that have been. I would rather see us lose the title in a good battle than ran away with the win.

But he DID get away from them. I don't understand your point.

He was 12 seconds clear when he cross rutted and tipped over.

He won the first moto by how much? (after an easy "victory lap")

I think his point was that Stewart failed to lead almost as many laps over two moto's as he's done all season in the US - probably more if you counted the laps he lost after he couldn't get his bike started.

That said, he was still by far the quickest rider out there. But you can't blame Phillipaerts or Pourcel for having a good go, because no one else has all season. Stewarts just immense.

I'm sure James was a bit overwhelmed with having shit tossed at him, cheering when he crashes and guys trying to take out the team all the while knowing how much shit he's going to get if the team doesn't bring home the trophy.

Who wants to bet that's the last time we see him race a MXDN?

You idiots don't know how lucky you are to get to watch him ride a dirt bike.

Idiots? There is another guy that said even in the US people cheer/scream when bubba goes down (and not get hurt). Just because they think the race is on again. Not because of him. As far as tossing stuff on the tracks I was there for two days walked around the track non stop and haven't seen anyone do that or screaming abuse at the US riders. Apparently there was an idiot throwing a bottle... well I'm sure you have one of them idiot at each race.

Stop victimised the US riders. they had the rockstar treatment, people cheering for them as well, the longest autograph queue, people camping outside their paddock area to catch a glimpse, every proper moto fan eyes on them with stars in their eyes.... Out of the 600 pictures I've taken maybe half of them are of the 3 US riders...
ill try clear this lil bit up........ if anyone saw that group of belgians walking around with that huge horn thing...well as u could probably tell they had quite a bit 2 drink and i did see 1 of them throw a bottle at james as he was going by the third corner from the finish line, im not sure if it was glass or not but its still something that should not be going on at a huge motocross race, however i remember watching the 2007 red bud race on tv and some guy tried throwing a tennis ball at bubba as he went over larocco's leap and also some of the track marshalls on saturday had to shout at some american guy because he was waving his flag in tim ferrys face as he was going through the woop section. so i guess what u can maybe put it down to drunkeness or just pure fucking shit for brains.
oh and btw bubba did act pretty bad after the last race there was a lil jeer from a crowd of people by the podium set up and everyone was talking about james shaking his head at seb pourcel and refusing to shake his hand, oh yeh and taking other riders out is part of the sport people....or i could say love taps ? i think thats what villopoto called it after he took alessi out. but hey usa won congrats !!!!!!!!!

The guy that threw the bottle was British according to a Brit on mxtrax.co.uk that was standing right next to him. He specifically said it wasn't anyone from the Belgian group.

Not that it makes a difference who threw it, I just figured you'd like to know so you don't start giving the Belgians a bad name too for no good reason. But thanks for trying to clear it up...lol

Edit: This is what he had to say:

"i was stood about 5 people down from the prick who threw it. they were brits im afraid. they were sticking there finger up and giving it the wanker gesture to bubba nearly every lap. we were stood with a huge group of belguims that had been drinking form befor 8.00 am but they were great fun, totaly respectfull to all the riders, and we had a real good laugh with them, its just a shame that YOU, THE MIDDLE AGED ADULT ( you were wearing a baseball cap and glasses) had to make the british fans look like thugs. Personaly, i would have liked to of punched you in face for being such a ignorant twat, but i didnt want to risk getting kicked out.....like you should have been."

DeCoster would never act like that to any competitor who challenged him. Even Mikkola or Noyce when he was a young punk knocking on the door. Why do riders these days have to act like race queens in a beauty pagent??

Holy crap, not only do we have euros against USA it's old pros vs. new pros.

Give me a break, JS was just pissed he couldn't get his bike started.
