I've counted Reed out many seasons, then he comes out and finds his speed again.

He's out of the championship, probably right. You've got to be healthy and ready to take on guys like Dungey or Roczen etc...

I would love to see him get his outdoor game back.

im not counting him out speed wise, its just hes not 100% and these guys are pulling away on points already... i understand hes still recovering, and prob another month off being 100%... but i think to get the number 1 plate ya gotta be a bit further up in the points already ..

Sad to say, but I think his crash last year has taken more of a toll on him mentally/emotionally than anybody can say...including him. Hope I'm dead wrong, but...

I definitely see this as Chad Reed's last full season.

With those blisters that he got on his hands last week, after all the time off the bike, his hands will never heal during this season and there is no way in heck that he will be able to ride 100%!

There are only two people with much of a shot at this title already. Sad unless the real js shows up really soon.

Not a single rider is out of anything, Reed is at a disadvantage for sure but not out. RV could show up next weekend and take the title if he won more motos than anyone else and didn't have a bad race. 425 points available in 17 weekends for SX, 600 points available for 12 weekends in MX. Roczen the point leader was well on his way to running away at the beginning of SX, that didn't work out so well for him. Although I like Roczen I think Reed and Stewart need to keep Dungey in sight the next couple of weeks.

Still regaining form and fitness... He will get better. Just gonna take more time than anyone would like.

I think that Chad struggles with coming back from injury. Mentally and physically, he never seems to be able to do it. Then people count him out and he has a healthy off season and he comes back strong.

Would never bet against CR22 outdoors. Or indoors for that matter. He fuels himself on other people's doubts.

Wouldn't surprise me for him to be on the box in the next couple rounds. With maybe a couple mo to wins. Not saying championship, but he will definitely be there to mix it up.

Agree!! as a fan its almost as frustraiting as it his for him!! im not by any means doubting him, just hard to watch them get away with the points.. Sad i was hoping Reedy would be top 6 this weekend as to not loose so many points.. obviously its early, but with both dunge n rockzen up there its gonna take big stuff ups by them to tighten it up!! thanks fot the reply JT$

I hope Reed can gain some time in the next few weeks but it sure looks tough to get up into the top 3. Those KTM boys seem to have another gear. Even James is not able to hang with them.

IF reed 100% fit coming into any sx or mx season he is a title threat,
Sadly history says when not 100% fit and coming back from injury he looks like a real average rider,,,i doubt the week off will help.

Fair comment, but throwing away 50 plus points... is gonna be hard.,... but then again, Reedy healthy n angry could pull of wins, and with Barcia, Canard, Metcalfe etc someone could get in the middle n steal some points... time will tell... Look at RJ in 89.... nothings a sure thing..

JT said on pulp last week people would be shocked at how little he rode.

Assuming it's been 2 weeks, with travel, soft hands and the rest I wouldn't be surprised if it's under 10 times. He'll be good, he always is!

he needs "titty-ium" grips.

Reed will be fine. And he will win.

Book that.

You guys probably don't realize this, but Chad's finishes this series are pretty much on par with where he was finishing the entire summer last year.

Gentlemen, there are still 20 Motos to go.

I like and respect chad but being honest I don't see him on the podiom in MX this year at all. IMO hes way too far off pace and apparently has hands that are blistering up (can't imagine the pain ). Like others have stated, I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see him gaining that much speed against the current field of riders. Btw Canard and Barcia look just fine out there on the pos Hondas Wink

Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone here realizes this.....Huh

Its just that, after Chad's awesome rides early on in SX, and with the new bike, I think a lot of guys were thinking he would vastly improve on last years results.

IMO, he will. You will see Reed win an OA ( or more ) this summer.

Your faith with him is better than mine, I think he'll struggle to make the podium, but it'd be awesome if he did and I hope he does. Just what it's looking like to me...
