-The triples are fucking huge and hard to clear, no matter how I set up my bike. I've crashed coming up short on triples many more times than I've made them, so far. Any game that makes a standard boring SX triple that hard to clear clearly doesn't want me playing it anymore. I can oblige.
-The preloading is finicky (at least compared to Unleashed) and stupidly inaccurate. When I preload there's no way to know if I'm going to go two extra feet or twenty. (Which I guess is better than Reflex, where I literally could not tell that preloading was making any difference at all in jump distance.)
-OK, there's a third: The speeds are too high, and I'm thinking the racing will suffer because of it. I see this is a problem with Alive, too, though I haven't played it. "Good racing" is about seeing what the other racer is doing and reacting to it. It doesn't work if you're going too fast to react. I know they want to appeal to the MotorSTORM crowd, but this is motoCROSS. (And the crazy high speeds make the fact that it's so hard to clear the jumps even more ridiculous.)
Other than that I guess it's kinda fun. I know some of these problems were fixed in later games, and maybe I'll lighten up when I get better at it (IF I get better), but I just needed to vent since I spent $20 on this thing and I'd rather be playing Unleashed.

With racing games (at least mx games with a clutch) I use a rubber band to hold down the gas on the controller and just pull the clutch in when I need to slow down a bit. Kinda stupid to be holding down a button the whole time, I figure. Well, the damn rubber band was only pulling the trigger down about 90%, and that last 10 gives you a LOT of extra punch.
So yeah, now it's fun again.
Dumbgeon.
Now I got a piece of Scotch tape holding it down.
I guess I'll replace the old complaint with a new one: the bike physics through the whoops looks goofy A.F. and looked better and more natural in Unleashed. Weird how they went backwards in that department.
Can't wait to see the new game. Slower speeds, please! Seems like Reflex was pretty levelheaded with its speed.
-Make the game too easy and it's cheesy to us hard core fans
-Make the game extremely technically accurate and it would turn off the regular people who don't take MX so serious
Hell, even as a mx racer and hard core fan of the sport myself I still would like the games to be accurate but fun as opposed to sitting down at the console and it being more like work than fun and really difficult to get a flow going. There are so many sensations to real motocross that can't be felt thru a TV so making a game that allows no error like the real world would be pretty unplayable and not very fun. I'd rather it allow me to make some mistakes and roll with it than fall every 2 seconds.
example:
Imagine if you could get cross-rutted in a game. It would be cool to be so real but you can't feel the balance of the bike thru your couch so it wouldn't be fun to just crash every couple seconds and can't do anything about it.
I thought alive was pretty darn good. My only complaints are the indoor tracks being more AX than SX and I wish somehow like in road racing games we could get real MX tracks in MX games. I wanna race Glen Helen or Red Bud or Budds Creek the same way we can race Laguna Seca or Suzuka in other video games. I also would like to be able to mod and tweak the bikes settings more like Gran Turismo.

I hope they release it, but it's going to be a financial disaster for them. Fact it, it's old IP that nobody wanted and their best bet is to sell it to a developer.
Motocross / supercross is a niche within a niche. The game is how far overdue? That tells me they don't have the budget to make it let alone market it. I'll be sure to visit them at E3 this year assuming they have a booth.
Riding a dirt bike, shit happens quickly and then slowly... Things are steep, slow, etc. You don't go 60mph drifting through a hair pin.... In the games you basically keep it tapped through corners, the bike does a goofy slide through it and then hit the jump at a funny angle.
Make it way slower, the accel way more violent, obstacles harder, steeper, etc. Go more realistic. The current physics models and game play seem like they have been done to death and without offering anything different I don't know how you guys will get different (better) sales results.
Just My 0.2 cents
2.) it's not negative it's reality. Nordic publishes crap and is a nobody in the business. You should hope for a sale if you like the series.
I stand by what I have always said, just take Reflex, make some more new tracks, tweak the handling slightly, make it so you don't crash as easy and make online play bulletproof. Minimal cost to rework the game rather than reinvent it everytime and start fresh with a turd game...
