He's virtually the only guy in that photo who is straight, balanced, not wheelying and in control. Virtually every other rider is either squiggly, or wheelying. That start (and pretty much every other one, ever) was won in the first three yards over the gate. Nothing to do with horsepower.

Q: HAS THE KTM 350SXF BEEN A SALES FAILURE?
A: Far from it. The 350SXF has been a box-office hit from the moment it was introduced in 2011. It is KTM’s best-selling engine size, and the sales figures have been spectacular.
Dirt Action: 5-15-2013
Sales in the US have been better than that. Like Australia, it was KTM’s highest-selling motocross bike, well in advance of the company’s 250 and smashed the current 450. From a pure sales point of view, the bike worked. Maintaining those sales figures is the next challenge for KTM.
Just can't happen I tell you, It is impossible.
Caption from RacerX "Dean Ferris (29) took the holeshot in both his motos on Sunday.
Simon Cudby photo"
WTF, must be photo Shopped!
Or they were not 250Fs maybe they were 290 kitted pulling hole-shots against the 450's, hang on that is still 60cc less than Cairoli's bike.
Hang on is Ferris's bike not only pulled a hole-shot on a field of 450's but also Caroli's secret super powered KTM 350 SX-F now way has to be some sort of FIM conspiracy payed for by Lungo? Right can't be any other answer!
Pit Row
Otherwise why are they so underpowered here?
Alessi and Short were no where near AC's level. Not a slam, just the facts. AC is one of the very best ever, and rides that bike really well, if anyone could make that bike look good then AC could.
having said that alessi won a moto on the 350...
i would like to see someone like tomac race the 350 in america- i think it would suit his style perfectly
Really, why does AC need to change. He's won 3 (?) straight titles on that thing, why change?
In the US, the racing the way it is, (probably likely more agressive) maybe you can't afford to leave any advantage when it comes to cut and run. That seems to be what Shorty said a lot, he just couldn't give the rest of the guys any hp advantage if it meant he lost opportunities to drag people or get a run etc...
Post a reply to: Finally confirmed Cairoli's 350 is actually ...
