WTF, when are some going to move forward? What he (Jeff) did was retarded. Get over it, his brother is a great rider and a serious outdoor podium threat. The shit show is here in these posts, not under the MC tent.

I have respect for all the guy's on the gate and would hope I post like I would treat them in person.

Good luck to Mike. I hope he stays.

And secondly, I do care if Mike races at round one that's good info. I hope Mike does great, doesn't get hurt and has fun. The internet bullies on this board are "JACKED"!!!!!!!!!!

Couldn't disagree more.

Shining a laser at an aircraft is a federal offence about everywhere, the laser directed towards the riders was definitely a big deal.

The lies and bullcrap after was just icing on a stupid cake.

I would like to think you typed that yourself, but in reading some of the past 178 posts I am going to call bullshit.

If it was you, you would not have ignored lostboys819 comments and just posted PR crap.
Jeez. Give it a break.

Altering or manipulating the outcome of a professional sporting event is a felony in most states and right up there with point shaving and fixing games, just because he didn't succeed does not make it any less serious. Try that with LeBron James or Payton Manning or Jeff Gordon and get caught and see what happens. No matter if you like or hate RV ,he is the super star of the moto world and a lifetime ban for jeff just goes to show how serious it really was. He is lucky he wasn't arrested. Blush

It's not a lifetime ban. I know Jeff and DC have talked, and there's a limit to the length of his punishment. Jeff would love to get back to racing, and he has a path to do it. Now he has to make it happen.

I believe if mike goes to round 1 and does good and is as competitive as I believe he is then I think it would be a hard decision not to stay and fight for the championship. He's an American and he should race in the premier outdoor series here at home. I know he wants to race Canada to build confidence for 2015 but I see in his racing that he's got huge confidence when he puts himself in the right place and he's also not worrying about the competition like he use to and just focusing on himself. He has grown a lot in the last year and I believe he is the most competitive he's ever been mentally right now and his equipment is far better then it's been in the past so I guess we will see at glen Helen how he does. He has a lot of positives going on for him and that's what we are all focusing on is the positive.
I hope he does well, no matter what of the past, having Mike racing the whole outdoor series would be cool.

Lets all just move on and enjoy what racing will be coming up eh?

That's correct guyb, not a lifetime ban I'm actually aloud to race AMA races again now with the exception of those 12 nationals THIS SUMMER so I can start training for supercross 2015. I have races coming up in a few months that are mandatory I do for AMA and then I'm able to turn my site on supercross and motocross for next year. Things are looking positive for me and that is what has my focus. Smile

Not saying that either, in fact I don't think you'll find a post where i've brought this up or gone after him since it happened.

Just stating you're opinion is well out of line with what actually happened or how it really is. I don't think he needs to be further persecuted, nor was I. I also don't think it'd make a difference.

Alessi gets a lot of shit, but the dude can haul even this year in SX he led mains for 6 laps twice and he is better outdoors. Last year he had a lot of bad luck lil injuries and crashes. He can podium in MX no matter who is in the field. Alessi at full tilt is faster than Metty, its just we like Metty more so he is all of the sudden way better, but Mike could pull a Top 3 in O/A standings if he stays down here. Talent and work ethic are not his problems its all mental.
Don't you read Vital...he sucks. He is horrible and just a lapper.

People on here are such F-tards. Even if you don't like him and know moto you'd realize he's one of the best MX/SX riders in the world. Top 1% in the world. But he sucks....MORONS!

I think the Alessi's have taken enough flak. I'd like to see both of them race in the U.S. they are just as much part of the current SX / MX racing scene and make the racing action that much more interesting. I'd say leave it alone posters, and let's go racing. The more the better. JMHO

So RV is out. Stewart is riding fast, but having consistency issues. Reed, Millsaps and Tomac will be recovering/building. Alessi is solid outdoors. You have to think they'd be temped to try.....

Dunge and Kenny will be strong, but it's a long season. Who knows if they make it through 24 motos.

If I had to bet, Dunge is the fav, but Alessi must be good for a few podiums.

Thoughts?

I like Mike. He is great with the fans!

How can anyone not respect a dude that came back after that 2008 Red Bud Crash? Dude is the all time hole shot master and before Grant took him him could have won the 2009 title. He had the speed for sure.

I just wish he could get his head straight for outdoors.

Unfortunately, it's pretty much the status quo around here. Some people think it's fun just to screw with other people on an internet message board, it's a sad life they live.

I can't believe you douche bags still stick up for that family. Obviously they are exceptional riders/racers, but c'mon....it has been non stop elementary school bullshit for years and years. I could take it or leave it if Mike is on the line for the whole series, but Jeff should not be allowed to attend any AMA events period. You guys defending him saying he was just a kid..22 years old is no longer a kid. What he did was about as low as you could possible get, just behind throwing a stick in a riders spokes.

I think he was 24 when he did it. Either way it's crazy stupid. Guess he couldn't handle RVs domination that year. Pinch

I read that Jeff also came on here saying RC used roids, without any evidence, of course. I don't understand why he brought it up in the first place because his brother was highly suspect in 2009.

I would be interested to see where Mike would stack up this year in the outdoors, at least we'll get a glimpse at GH, even if he does decide to go north. There were years when Mike was a threat outdoors after looking horrible in SX. This year in SX he looked pretty decent, although I couldn't help wonder what was going on with him dropping anchor so frequently. He would be riding like a top 5 guy for a while, then get caught by one too many people and it was like he just gave up. Normally I would figure fitness or arms were an issue, like with Deano on the 450, but with Mike I don't see how that's possible. Seemed like his confidence was on a roller coaster, but in past years, the confidence wasn't there at all. Just because he might not win the title doesn't mean he shouldn't race. Finishing third in the AMA motocross championship means that you are a rich man, in the 99.99999 percentile of motocross riders, and one hell of an athlete. I would kill to come last in a 450 national.

As for lasergate, even right when it happened I didn't see it as real malicious cheating, more like an extremely dumb move from someone who's not too bright and thought it would be funny. I think most of us have done something analogous, it's just that most of us were 10 at the time, like throwing rocks at cars or other general dickhead kid stuff. The stuff that came after reminded me concretely of when I was 10 and did something stupid, and then tried every excuse and denial that popped into my stupid 10 year old brain to get out of it. Better to be stupid than a cheater, one is a condition, the other is a choice. There's no question in my mind that motocross racing, at the level the Allessi family did it, can stunt education and development if the parents are not vigilant about it. So, if Jeff learned his lesson from lasergate, I don't see why he shouldn't be forgiven. You can't expect kids to be elite athletes at 16, and not have some catching up to do in other areas.
5/7/2014 8:20pm
I've hung out with Jeff a couple times and never had any problems. He was always nice and so was mike. I've never cared for their dad seems like a real ass and I'm surprised that the teams he rides for will deal with him when it's mike racing not tony. I hope the best to anyone racing the nationals . At least Jeff's mistakes were minor and not against the law like a lot of other pro athletes.
