Well, technically he only made $1,125,770. He is married, after all...

That's awesome! Win bonuses are huge.

I heard the reason Kawi let RC and JS go was they couldn't afford to keep paying out those huge bonuses.
I have no idea if that is true or not, but it could be an issue right now with RV.
You know Chip....I thought of that myself a couple days ago when the rumor started floating around. If an employer tells you that he can't pay you for future work.....what do you do? Pilotdude mentioned something about a money issue last week in here and now that starts to make a little more sense.

If that's the case I have mixed emotions about it. Sure would love to see RV out there either this summer or next year , but who knows.....after Vegas we may never see him again.

IF that's why Kawi lets these guys go I can understand, those 3 dudes took a tremendous amount of bonus $$$.

I would be surprised if he never comes back (providing he is really out) I think he will miss it eventually. JMO

well earned id say, the fact that these top guys are so humble even though they are making millions is a testament to how tough it is out there. no time for fancy cars and partying

I would tell you but I don't know.

I'm sure RV made 5-10 million a year counting all the endorsement deals, knowing the industry, how much he actually collected was probably a little less.

But between three houses, a practice track he still leases from Langston(maybe), giant rock star tour bus with driver and fuel, water trucks, bulldozers, Aldon Baker, practice bike mechanic, Lloyd's of London disability insurance, 10 percent of everything to the agent, how much does he have left???

I'm sure Ryan isn't cashing in change at coinstar yet, but his expenses must be sickening. Stick and ball guys don't have any of that crap to pay for.
how much does he have left???

Good question.

The answer is: Nothing. RV is broke. He can't even afford to run the #2 anymore. Remember that chest protector he used to wear when first turned pro? Nope, gone, can't afford a chest protector anymore. Dude even owes me $6.28...I'll let it slide though.

haha, imo villo has been the best rider in the world. not even close, sx/mx skills combined, i think cairoli is a stud , but would kill himself at sx. but of course my opinion.
Why would Cairoli kill himself on a SX track? He beat CP377 a bunch of time on a MX track and CP won 2 US Lites titles. Did Roczen killed himself? Was he experienced when he crossed the pond? He never entered an SX championship before coming to the US and improved fast. A gifted rider stays a gifted rider, all those guys could be killers as long as dirt and dirtbikes are concerned...

Some things I've learned in this thread.

1 - It's not fair to compare a SX/MX champion to a pop star or stick/ball athlete. The markets are significantly different and SX/MX is significantly smaller comparatively speaking.

2 - You aussies are some laid back funny people. I just imagine yall sparring with kangaroos all the time and drinking beer. I don't even know what a drop bear is but that was a funny story.

3 - TMV just got butt hurt.

Calling someone MATE is a copy-write Australian saying, aint no kissing of the cheeks down under, well unless a case of fosters has been downed after eating all the shrimp on the Barbie, but not until the croc wrestling is over and the dead carcass is tied it up with a King Brown.

Now get it right you flaming galah.

We shot all the Drop Bears, they kept drinking all Queenslanders Rum. The local government up there declared open season on Drop Bears and within 32 minutes they were extinct.

Well all but one, the drop bear that started the rum drinking craze by staring in a couple of TV commercials is currently en-caged in a zoo to remind Australian's the dangers of turning animals into alcoholics

Forgot to add the only way to gain entry into said Zoo to see the sole drop bear is by rocking up to the Zoo in the pouch of a Kangaroo. Kangaroo's can be hired for travel very cheap at the moment.

What Aussies did not realise is that drop bears actually fed on Roos. Roos are once again running rampant in the streets of Australia, but are being put to good use as we faze out motor vehicles, for our nations eco friendly transport option.

Seems to be working well.

Another thing to note is that our top Roo Racers (Yes we race them) earned exactly $2,251,540.00 just in prize money this season. If rumors are true, Ryan will be racing a factory Big Red Roo in Australia in 2015 and beyond.
What about that Toad problem ya'll have over there, is it as bad as the media makes it out to be?

I don't get the feeling he will miss it that much, I think he will go the Larry Ward route and disappear...just a guess. I do think it would be cool if he went to the GP's for a year though before he exits stage left.

He's underpaid considering what top athletes in other sports make.

NFL: Tom Brady makes that for playing 1 game...plus he gets $30Mil signing bonus.
NHL: Sidney Crosby pulls in $12M a year
MotoGP: Valentino Rossi gets $12M a year

Guys that own some local car dealerships and restaurants pull in 2M a year and they don't have a million jackasses talking about them all day long and they don't have to worry about injury.

Just sayin...

Good point. The real shame is the difference in pay between a 1-3 place guy and a 5 - 10th place guy. Guys that are getting on the podium can make millions.....while guys making it from about 7th - 15th place......aren't making squat. Forget about the 16th - 22nd place.....they are looking for gas money to make it to the next round ( over exaggeration I know )....but you get the point.
