How many more championships does Tyler Bowers have to win to start racing real Supercross. I feel so sorry for the rest of the field. Is the road to supercross a 4 year stint? I tried to watch the Arenacross I had DVR, but it just reminds me of when people would not move up in amateur racing as well. Would love to see more amateur style racing in the mains, not someone that should be riding in the Monster Supercross. I think Ricky is right on par with this series and endorsing, but the tracks need to be a little bigger and a champion should have to graduate to the monster supercross.

Is anyone else bored with the series because of the above? Or you really enjoying. Just curious what you all thought about this series. I'm also bummed they skipped Denver this year so I'm MAD BRO.

Link below showing past champions. Buddy had a big win streak back in the day as well.

before you act on this kid look at all the pros that have been in the lites/250 class for over 5 years. Then ask the question again.

I don't think Arenacross is a lesser series, just a different type of racing. Good for Bowers being smart and doing what he's good at...WINNING!
Arenacross is a professional motorcycle racing series, why would he change if he is making a living?

I think Bowers staying is actually a good thing overall -- it gives that series more credibility when you have a guy like him (still in his prime) in there who has won a Lites race recently. Beating him is no joke.

Wasn't Bowers in college last year? It's probably much easier to make a decent living while still acquiring college credits racing arenacross.

I love how so many of you are like 'he's there to make money, smart guy!'

Yet when there is even a hint of someone like CP377 taking a cash deal the haters come out in force (I may well be among therm). Bowers is a sandbagger, no doubt about it. You can like/agree with his reasons but you can't deny it.

At what point does he start to be a big time racer and stop chasing cash? He clearly has the speed.

I guarantee you that the next crop of Pro Circuit and Factory Connection rookies won't be participating and the whole concept of Arenacross as a mandatory primer will be quickly dropped.

AX should return to its roots as a fall series where it stands a chance of some media attention.

For those who get it confused, the RC Road To Supercross deals with amateurs/experts coming up to earn their 250SX license. Nothing to do with the actual AMSOIL Arenacross points series. I been seeing lots of confusion there when bringing up the whole "Bowers should move to SX" crap. Road To Supercross points have nothing to do with Bowers having to move to the SX world.

Yes, Bowers is capable of racing for top spots in SX. No doubt there.
Yes, Bowers goes where the $$$ is, which is AX for him.

Keep in mind, Bowers suffered a leg injury at the opening round and another injury mid-season to win the title. Add in the Road To SX amateurs mixing it up playing spoiler, the gate pick inversions, and the "Chase" part of the series (points back to 0 past half way), this wasn't an easy championship to win and Tyler has won it 4x in a row not all in the same way as the series has made major adjustments through that time.
Having to clarify/qualify doesn't negate the branding problem.
I'm still going with the the RC marketing gimmick.
Am not however taking anything away from Bowers for chasing a payday.
If anything, he gets serious credit for racing super inexperienced riders in the most bar-banging conditions.

A pro racer can't sandbag a pro series. Are you fucking stupid or something?

Since when was AX a lower class than SX, and you had to move up if you were too good? It's a different series.

You should sit down with him over dinner and discuss this. And then tell him to eat his fucking peas or you are going to kick his ass.

I was going to suggest that Trauma fund a Supercross team for Bowers. But, I like newmann's suggestion better.

How do they make the tracks bigger when they are built in small arenas?

In regards to Bower. I can see him going where the money is and making a decent living while he can. Cannot fault him if the system allows multi year champions without booting them out to SX.

Tyler has a 3 year contract (2015 being the last year of it) a contract that guarantees him money. Just like everyone else in the world, Tyler has bills. I'm sure if he had a great offer for Supercross he would take it ( I doubt his team would hold him back) But why should he take less money or do it on his own dime? To appeal to some jackasses from Colorado and Australia? Do you guys work for free? Would you guys switch jobs and make less money to make people happy? Fuck no you wouldn't. So why should pro racers? Get a fucking clue.

I'm not on the sandbagging bandwagon, ride where ever you want, let it be up to someone else to dethrone you.......however, if this is the road to Supercross (ala the road to let whoever we want to race and who we don't, for a fee) then the champs need to be forced to advance after 3 seasons like Supercross support class (ala 250). If not, it is not fair for new guys coming up trying to get their pro points to race.

Basically it is not the road to anything, Webb and AC292 did not have to go thru it. It is the road to try and force people to participate in a dying series. I still cannot tolerate to watch these races, you can name them whatever you want. The tracks are just to tiny to even get into the racing.

Actually its been the way to get your Supercross license for a few years. Some riders are able to get past it as they are already on a team.(My son is an example) RC has just picked up on it. Its not a "stepping stone" for SX. Its a series. One riders don't have to mortgage their life away to race in.

the whole "road to supercross" theme throws off everything, it's a terrible title, and makes it seem like it is the minor league, when in reality it's a completely different series.
