Remember these guys ....

They road mini-bikes across the country. Sponsored by Honda, they agreed to ride from New York to LA, presumably to show the durability of the bikes under the weight of the McCrary bros. It took them 30 days, averaging around 100 miles a day. Benny said they had a deal worked out with Holiday Inn, who provided rooms during the trip. Then, he said, “We’d ride into town and give autographs at a dealership for a couple hours.”

If you've got a 68 Maico Square 360 MC Sqaure Barrel sitting in your garage and/or basement.

First set of pics are the before (Roach) in 2011, and the after (restoration) 2014. It took me 3 years to complete this bike....I've got few little odds and ends and one final detailing to complete, but it's essentially done.

Here's a pic of a 71 Maico 400 GS I picked up in Jan 2014. Just tuned it up, and all it needs is new tires, and the number plate put back on.

And lastly, here's a pic of 71 Maico 250 MC I just picked up last Sunday. It's all there, but it needs alot of MaicoJC! love.

You bought the first issue of Dirt Bike Magazine
You know what a DiffBrake was
You know what TC Lube was (midwest synthetic oil)
You raced three motos
You had to cross a creek to get to the starting line at a MX track...cross as in ride through the water.
One track you raced at was known for having sheep occasionally on the track. (I think SX could possibly be enhanced by adding sheep)

Very nice bikes MaicoJC1. I'm sure you are glad you held on to them and even better had the time to restore them that well.

You remember saying ¨ Those ring-dings will never make it , they sound funny ¨

If you had an "Ass, gas or grass, nobody rides for free" sticker on your tank.

reminds me of the Desert Daises motorcycle club of the late 70's early 80's. Out in the middle of no where, they
would be waiving to you in the buck nude. They always had a good turn out for their races.

Following up on the rad behind the front plate post...

Your bike also came with an odd white fin/louver but no info on what to do with it. The factory dudes did not have this louver on their bike but, when you got to the first race of the season, riders had it mounted in all different areas on their front fender.

You don't scrub every bump on the track.
