This thread is funny as hell!!
Love the one about your mountain bike susp having more travel than your first race bike. lmao
60% of these posts would apply to me as well. Brings back the memories.

I would say if your first race bike was a 1972 Hodaka Super Rat with a Webco radial head.
And oh yes, wearing jeans (duct taped of course) and work boots, open face helmet and mouth guard.
Made by Jofa??? not sure on that one.

Oh yeah one more.
You used rope to tie your bike in the bed of your truck. Tie downs just weren't in the budget!

You ever thought a PP front fender made a CB100 dirt worthy.

Saw Jeff Smith racing on a 4T against a field of 2T.

The [months delayed] USGP at Carlsbad airing on Wide World of Sports was one of the biggest days of your life.

If you had a husky 390 automatic and a broken leg to go along with it trying to kick start it on the left side.

Remember the humminbird throttle

You're old if you wore a red metal flake open face helmet with hockey style face shield while riding your XR75. Helmet matched my Dad's jet boat perfectly!

You ran boge or mulholland or koni shocks.

You took off signal lights to turn your dual sport into a moto-x bike (SL70).

You ran Chen Ching tires, but if you had the cash you upgraded to metzlers.

You used a good 10w-30 to oil your filters.

Your 2smoker had oil injection.

You earned the envy of your 4-stroke Mini Trail buddies when you showed up with your first bike, a KV75 smoker.

Your brand new shiny 400 CZ radial cost a whopping $1000 at Grand Prix Cycles in Fremont. Ian MacLaughlin was a good Dude.

You rode dressed like this and not a single person mocked you about it, 'cause they would wear the same.

If anyone ever starts a thread for best toad pic, I'm at least gonna get a podium with that one.

"You've raced at a track with a rubber band start. "

you got slapped in the Jofa by aforementioned rubberband start on a
twin shock bike with skunk works suspension, a crossup swing arm,
boge mullholland shocks, a trapp silencer and a front barum tire.

gee, i'm an old rider

How about a Steel Cable start with a traffic signal to watch before it dropped?
